    Title
RMCP: Custom HTTP headers leak to cross-origin redirect targets
    Summary
RMCP is an official Rust SDK for the Model Context Protocol. Prior to 2.1.0, the rmcp crate's StreamableHttpClientTransport in crates/rmcp/src/transport/common/reqwest/streamable_http_client.rs builds its default_http_client with reqwest's automatic redirect policy and applies caller-supplied values from StreamableHttpClientTransportConfig.custom_headers without marking them as sensitive. When a malicious or compromised MCP endpoint returns a cross-origin 307 or 308 redirect, reqwest follows the redirect and apply_custom_headers causes custom API keys or authentication tokens to be replayed to the new origin, where an attacker can capture and reuse them. The separate auth_header path is not affected because it uses the standard Authorization header, which reqwest strips on cross-origin redirects. This issue is fixed in version 2.1.0.

    Title
RMCP: Unauthenticated permanent session-table leak in rmcp Streamable HTTP server transport leads to remote denial-of-service
    Summary
RMCP is an official Rust SDK for the Model Context Protocol. Prior to 2.0.0, the rmcp crate's stateful Streamable HTTP server in crates/rmcp/src/transport/streamable_http_server/tower.rs allows an unauthenticated client to send a well-formed JSON-RPC POST that is not an initialization request, or an initialization request with a mismatched protocol header, causing StreamableHttpService::handle_post to call LocalSessionManager.create_session before validating the message. An early validation failure returns without removing the inserted LocalSessionHandle from LocalSessionManager.sessions, permanently retaining session and channel state for the server process lifetime. Repeated requests can grow the shared session table without bound, degrade legitimate-client latency through lock contention, exhaust memory, and terminate the server. This issue is fixed in version 2.0.0.

    Title
RMCP: Missing Resource Field Validation in OAuth Protected Resource Metadata Discovery
    Summary
RMCP is an official Rust SDK for the Model Context Protocol. Prior to 2.0.0, the rmcp crate's OAuth implementation in crates/rmcp/src/transport/auth.rs omits the RFC 9728 resource field from ResourceServerMetadata and allows discover_oauth_server_via_resource_metadata to use protected-resource metadata without confirming that the returned resource identifier exactly matches the configured MCP server. A malicious MCP server can publish metadata for a different legitimate MCP resource and its authorization server, causing a victim who connects and completes the authorization flow to obtain a legitimate access token that the client subsequently sends to the malicious server. The attacker can capture the token and impersonate the victim against the legitimate MCP resource within the token's granted scopes. This issue is fixed in version 2.0.0.

Prior to 2.0.0, the rmcp crate\u0027s OAuth implementation in crates/rmcp/src/transport/auth.rs omits the RFC 9728 resource field from ResourceServerMetadata and allows discover_oauth_server_via_resource_metadata to use protected-resource metadata without confirming that the returned resource identifier exactly matches the configured MCP server. A malicious MCP server can publish metadata for a different legitimate MCP resource and its authorization server, causing a victim who connects and completes the authorization flow to obtain a legitimate access token that the client subsequently sends to the malicious server. The attacker can capture the token and impersonate the victim against the legitimate MCP resource within the token\u0027s granted scopes. This issue is fixed in version 2.0.0."

    Title
MCP Kotlin SDK's unbounded line buffer in StdioServerTransport/StdioClientTransport leads to memory exhaustion (DoS)
    Summary
MCP Kotlin SDK is the Kotlin Multiplatform software development kit for the Model Context Protocol. In versions 0.7.0 through 0.12.0, `ReadBuffer.append` in `kotlin-sdk-core/src/commonMain/kotlin/io/modelcontextprotocol/kotlin/sdk/shared/ReadBuffer.kt` writes every chunk of bytes received from the stdio transport into a `kotlinx.io.Buffer` with no size cap. Frames are extracted from that buffer only when a `\n` (0x0a) byte is observed. A peer that streams bytes without ever sending a newline causes the internal buffer to grow indefinitely until the JVM (or the surrounding host process) is OOM-killed. The leak is amplified by `StdioServerTransport` and `StdioClientTransport`, which both queue raw chunks through a `kotlinx.coroutines.channels.Channel<ByteArray>(Channel.UNLIMITED)` and then call `readBuffer.append(chunk)` without backpressure or size guard. This is a remote-pre-auth denial of service whenever an SDK stdio server's stdin is fed by an untrusted or attacker-controlled producer (for example: a host program that exec's the MCP server as a subprocess and pipes through bytes received from a network peer, or a sidecar wrapper that proxies bytes from an HTTP endpoint to the stdio transport). Version 0.13.0 fixes the issue.

    Title
MCP PHP SDK: Unbounded SSE buffer in HttpTransport enables client-side denial of service
    Summary
The MCP PHP SDK (Composer package mcp/sdk) is the official Model Context Protocol SDK for PHP. In versions 0.5.0 through 0.7.0, the HTTP client transport reads a Server-Sent Events response stream incrementally and appends each chunk to an in-memory buffer with no upper bound. The buffer is only flushed when an SSE event delimiter, a double newline, is found, so a remote MCP server that streams response bytes without ever sending the delimiter causes the buffer to grow without limit. A malicious, compromised, or man-in-the-middle-controlled server that the client connects to over the HTTP transport can exploit this to exhaust the client process's memory, triggering a fatal allocation error or OS out-of-memory kill and denying service to the MCP client. The issue affects any client using HttpTransport against an untrusted server endpoint and does not require authentication or user interaction beyond initiating the connection. This issue is fixed in version 0.7.1.

    Title
MCP Ruby SDK: Unbounded JSON-RPC request body causes uncontrolled memory allocation in StreamableHTTPTransport
    Summary
MCP Ruby SDK is the official Ruby SDK for Model Context Protocol servers and clients. Prior to 0.23.0, MCP::Server::Transports::StreamableHTTPTransport in the mcp gem reads and parses an entire JSON-RPC POST body without a size limit, allowing an unauthenticated remote attacker to exhaust process memory. This issue is fixed in version 0.23.0.

    Title
MCP Ruby SDK: Ruby SSE Session Poisoning
    Summary
MCP Ruby SDK is the official Ruby SDK for Model Context Protocol servers and clients. Prior to 0.23.0, MCP::Server::Transports::StreamableHTTPTransport in the mcp gem does not bind a session ID to a session owner, allowing an attacker with a stolen session ID to send tools/call requests that execute in the victim's session. This issue is fixed in version 0.23.0.

MCP Ruby SDK: Unbounded line buffer in stdio transports leads to memory exhaustion (DoS)
    Summary
MCP Ruby SDK is the official Ruby SDK for Model Context Protocol servers and clients. Prior to 0.23.0, MCP::Server::Transports::StdioTransport and MCP::Client::Stdio in the mcp gem use IO#gets without a byte limit, allowing a peer that sends data without a newline to exhaust process memory. This issue is fixed in version 0.23.0.

    Summary
MCP Ruby SDK is the official Ruby SDK for Model Context Protocol servers and clients. Prior to 0.23.0, MCP::Server::Transports::StreamableHTTPTransport in the mcp gem does not validate the HTTP Host or Origin request headers, which allows a malicious browser page to use DNS rebinding to reach a locally running MCP server and invoke exposed tools. This issue is fixed in version 0.23.0.

    Title
MCP Python SDK: WebSocket server transport does not support Host/Origin validation
    Summary
The MCP Python SDK, called mcp on PyPI, is a Python implementation of the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Prior to 1.28.1, the deprecated mcp.server.websocket.websocket_server transport accepted WebSocket handshakes without applying Host or Origin header validation, leaving no SDK-level way to restrict which origins could connect to applications that exposed that transport. This issue is fixed in version 1.28.1.

    Title
MCP Python SDK: Experimental task handlers allow any client to access and cancel other clients' tasks
    Summary
The MCP Python SDK, called mcp on PyPI, is a Python implementation of the Model Context Protocol (MCP). From 1.23.0 until 1.27.2, default handlers installed by server.experimental.enable_tasks() for tasks/list, tasks/get, tasks/result, and tasks/cancel operate only on task identifiers without recording the session that created each task, allowing any connected client to enumerate, read results from, consume messages for, or cancel other clients' tasks. This issue is fixed in version 1.27.2.

    Title
MCP Python SDK: HTTP transports serve session requests without verifying the authenticated principal
    Summary
The MCP Python SDK, called mcp on PyPI, is a Python implementation of the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Prior to 1.27.2, the SSE and stateful Streamable HTTP transports mcp.server.sse.SseServerTransport and mcp.server.streamable_http_manager.StreamableHTTPSessionManager route requests to existing sessions using only the session_id query parameter or Mcp-Session-Id header without verifying the authenticated principal that created the session, allowing a different bearer-token-authenticated client with a known session ID to inject JSON-RPC messages into that session. This issue is fixed in version 1.27.2.

    CVE-2026-44428 (GCVE-0-2026-44428)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-05-14 21:09 – Updated: 2026-05-15 14:22
    VLAI
    Title
MCP Registry: GitHub OIDC tokens replayable across registry deployments due to shared audience
    Summary
The MCP Registry provides MCP clients with a list of MCP servers, like an app store for MCP servers. Prior to 1.7.6, the client-side and server-side GitHub OIDC flow is bound only to a global audience string, not to the specific registry instance being targeted. On the client side, the publisher always appends audience=mcp-registry when requesting the GitHub Actions ID token, regardless of the selected --registry URL. On the server side, the exchange endpoint validates only that same fixed audience and then derives publish permissions directly from repository_owner. As a result, a token legitimately obtained while interacting with one registry deployment remains acceptable to any other deployment that shares the same code and audience string. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.7.6.

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-05-14 21:07 – Updated: 2026-05-15 13:33
    VLAI
    Title
    MCP Registry: Open Redirect
    Summary
The MCP Registry provides MCP clients with a list of MCP servers, like an app store for MCP servers. From 1.1.0 to 1.7.4, the TrailingSlashMiddleware in internal/api/server.go is vulnerable to an open redirect attack. An attacker can craft a URL with a protocol-relative path (e.g., //evil.com/) that, after trailing slash removal, results in a Location header of //evil.com — which browsers interpret as an absolute URL to an external domain. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.7.5.

    CVE-2026-45781 (GCVE-0-2026-45781)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-05-14 21:00 – Updated: 2026-05-16 01:06

    Title
MCP Registry: OCI ownership validation fails open on upstream rate limits, allowing attacker-controlled package claims
    Summary
The MCP Registry provides MCP clients with a list of MCP servers, like an app store for MCP servers. Prior to 1.7.9, OCI ownership validation skips label-match check when upstream OCI registry returns HTTP 429, letting any authenticated publisher bind their io.github.<user>/* namespace to OCI images they do not control. internal/validators/registries/oci.go:104-119 fails open on http.StatusTooManyRequests: when the registry's anonymous fetch to the upstream OCI registry is rate-limited, ValidateOCI returns nil and the publish is accepted without ever running the io.modelcontextprotocol.server.name label-match check at lines 122-141. That label check is the only cross-system ownership proof the registry applies to OCI packages — every other registry type (NPM, PyPI, NuGet, MCPB) treats a non-200 upstream response as a hard error. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.7.9.

    Title
MCP Registry: Unauthenticated SSRF: HTTP namespace verification dials 6to4 / NAT64 / site-local IPv6 addresses, bypassing private-address allowlist
    Summary
The MCP Registry provides MCP clients with a list of MCP servers, like an app store for MCP servers. Prior to 1.7.7, the Registry's HTTP-based namespace verification (POST /v0/auth/http, POST /v0.1/auth/http) uses safeDialContext (internal/api/handlers/v0/auth/http.go:67-110) to refuse dialling private/internal addresses when fetching the well-known public-key file from a publisher-supplied domain. The blocklist (isBlockedIP, lines 125-133) relies entirely on Go stdlib's IsLoopback / IsPrivate / IsLinkLocalUnicast / IsMulticast / IsUnspecified plus a manual CGNAT range. None of these cover IPv6 6to4 (2002::/16), NAT64 (64:ff9b::/96 and 64:ff9b:1::/48 per RFC 8215), or deprecated site-local (fec0::/10) — all of which encode arbitrary IPv4 in the address bits and tunnel to RFC1918 / cloud-metadata services on dual-stack / NAT64-enabled hosts. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.7.7.

    Title
MCP Ruby SDK: Unbounded session retention in StreamableHTTPTransport allows memory exhaustion via initialize flood
    Summary
MCP Ruby SDK is the official Ruby SDK for Model Context Protocol servers and clients. Prior to 0.23.0, MCP::Server::Transports::StreamableHTTPTransport in the mcp gem does not expire sessions by default, so repeated initialize requests retain unbounded ServerSession objects and can exhaust process memory. This issue is fixed in version 0.23.0.

MCP Ruby SDK: Streamable HTTP transport lacks DNS-rebinding (Host/Origin) protection
