Security update for trivy
Severity
Low
Notes
Title of the patch: Security update for trivy
Description of the patch: This update for trivy fixes the following issues:
- CVE-2026-24122: github.com/sigstore/cosign/v2/pkg/cosign: improper validation of certificates that outlive expired CA
certificates (bsc#1258543).
- CVE-2026-37236: github.com/grpc-ecosystem/grpc-gateway/v2/runtime: client can override the HTTP method of a POST
request through the X-HTTP-Method-Override header and bypass established access control (bsc#1278002).
- CVE-2026-41178: go.opentelemetry.io/otel/baggage, go.opentelemetry.io/otel/propagation: no rejection of raw-length
headers in baggage parsing allows for DoS via oversized inputs (bsc#1276745).
- CVE-2026-50163: oras-go: Information disclosure and arbitrary file access via crafted tarball hardlinks (bsc#1278702).
- CVE-2026-56854,CVE-2026-56855,CVE-2026-78662: golang.org/x/crypto/ssh: authentication bypass and deadlocks in the
crypto/ssh library (bsc#1278624).
- CVE-2026-84303: github.com/grpc/grpc-go: xDS RBAC HTTP filter implementation issue allows for bypass of authorization
policies via mixed-case or canonical-case header matches (bsc#1279390).
- CVE-2026-84304: github.com/grpc/grpc-go: heap memory exhaustion via HTTP/2 DATA frame fragmentation (bsc#1279395).
- CVE-2026-84445: google.golang.org/grpc: DoS via crash due to missing `:authority` and `Host` headers in gRPC-Go xDS
servers (bsc#1279392).

"text": "Cosign provides code signing and transparency for containers and binaries. In versions 3.0.4 and below, an issuing certificate with a validity that expires before the leaf certificate will be considered valid during verification even if the provided timestamp would mean the issuing certificate should be considered expired. When verifying artifact signatures using a certificate, Cosign first verifies the certificate chain using the leaf certificate\u0027s \"not before\" timestamp and later checks expiry of the leaf certificate using either a signed timestamp provided by the Rekor transparency log or from a timestamp authority, or using the current time. The root and all issuing certificates are assumed to be valid during the leaf certificate\u0027s validity. There is no impact to users of the public Sigstore infrastructure. This may affect private deployments with customized PKIs. This issue has been fixed in version 3.0.5.",

Prior to 1.83.1, the xDS RBAC HTTP filter in internal/xds/httpfilter/rbac/rbac.go does not lowercase header matcher names in normalizeHeaderMatcher even though incoming metadata keys are lowercase. A DENY policy using a mixed-case name such as X-Role or User-Agent therefore does not match and fails open, allowing requests that should be rejected. The same case mismatch permits :Scheme or Grpc-Status to evade gRFC A41 validation and prevents Host from being rewritten to :authority. This issue is fixed in version 1.83.1.",

Prior to 1.83.1, internal/transport/transport.go stores each fragmented HTTP/2 DATA frame as a separate recvMsg in recvBuffer, so millions of one-byte frames can consume disproportionate heap memory even when payload bytes remain within connection and stream flow-control windows. "text": "gRPC-Go is the Go language implementation of gRPC. Prior to 1.82.2 and 1.83.2, servers created with xds.NewGRPCServer() allow internal/transport/http2_server.go to accept an RPC containing neither the :authority header nor the Host header, while RouteAndProcess in internal/xds/server/routing.go assumes that an authority value exists and indexes the empty slice. A remote client that can complete transport connection establishment can trigger an index-out-of-bounds panic that is not recovered by the per-RPC goroutine and terminates the entire server process. In insecure or ordinary TLS deployments the request can be unauthenticated, while strict mTLS or ALTS deployments require valid transport credentials before the malformed RPC can reach the interceptor. The MITRE ATT&CK techniques below are AI-generated suggestions, inferred from the description of the
vulnerability by the CIRCL/vulnerability-attack-technique-classification-roberta-base
model, served locally by ML-Gateway.
They have not been verified by an analyst and are provided for guidance only.
The approach is described in our paper Mapping CVEs to MITRE ATT&CK Techniques: A Curated Gold-Set Classifier and the Limits of LLM-Assisted Label Expansion.
