RHSA-2026:76739
Vulnerability from csaf_redhat - Published: 2026-10-08 16:46 - Updated: 2026-10-09 04:01A flaw was found in the Linux kernel’s TLS implementation (net/tls/tls_device.c). The function get_netdev_for_sock() is invoked during setsockopt(), which is not executed under RCU (Read-Copy-Update) protection. It previously used sk_dst_get(sk)->dev, which can lead to a use-after-free (UAF) if the sk’s destination is freed

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel. Missing null pointer checks in the IPv6 Segment Routing (SRv6) implementation, specifically within the `seg6_hmac_validate_skb()` and `ipv6_srh_rcv()` functions, can occur when an IPv6 device lacks proper configuration. This oversight may allow an attacker to trigger a null pointer dereference, potentially leading to a system crash and a Denial of Service (DoS).
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's thermal core subsystem. When `thermal_zone_device_register_with_trips()` fails during device registration, it does not properly wait for the thermal zone device's removal completion. This can lead to the premature freeing of the device's memory, creating a use-after-free vulnerability. A local attacker could potentially exploit this to cause a denial of service.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's GFS2 file system. During filesystem shutdown, quota data objects were freed without being properly removed from the Least Recently Used (LRU) list. This oversight could lead to a use-after-free vulnerability, where the system attempts to access memory that has already been released. Such a condition can cause system instability, crashes, or potentially allow a local attacker to escalate privileges or execute arbitrary code.
A flaw was found in the Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) nSVM module of the Linux kernel. This vulnerability occurs when an unhandled VMMCALL is not properly intercepted by the Level 1 (L1) hypervisor. A malicious Level 2 (L2) guest operating system could exploit this by making specific hypercalls, leading to an Undefined Opcode exception (#UD) in the host. This could potentially result in a denial of service for the host system.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Bluetooth hci_uart component. Lifecycle management issues, including Use-After-Free (UAF) and race conditions, were identified during the closing and initialization paths. These issues can lead to the dereferencing of freed memory, potentially causing system instability, crashes, or arbitrary code execution.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) for arm64 architectures. An issue in the reallocation of the `nested_mmus` array allows a process to access freed memory. This memory corruption vulnerability could enable a local attacker to escalate privileges or cause a denial of service.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's netfilter logging component. This vulnerability occurs because the system does not properly check if a network packet's Media Access Control (MAC) header is valid before attempting to log it. A local attacker could send a specially crafted network packet, leading to an out-of-bounds read. This could result in the disclosure of sensitive information from kernel memory or cause a system crash, leading to a denial of service.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's netfilter SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) connection tracking module. This vulnerability, caused by unsafe port parsing, allows a remote attacker to send specially crafted malformed packets. Such packets could lead to excessive resource consumption, potentially resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition. The issue is due to the use of an insecure parsing function on non-NUL-terminated data without adequate bounds checks.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Global File System 2 (GFS2) component. The `gfs2_logd()` function, responsible for log flushing, calls several log flushing functions without holding the required lock. This omission allows concurrent transactions to access shared resources without proper exclusion, which could lead to race conditions. Such conditions may result in system instability or data corruption, potentially causing a Denial of Service (DoS).
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Bluetooth component. A Use-After-Free (UAF) vulnerability exists in the `l2cap_sock_cleanup_listen()` and `l2cap_conn_del()` functions. This flaw occurs due to a race condition during the cleanup of a listening socket and a concurrent Bluetooth (HCI) disconnect. An unprivileged local attacker could potentially exploit this to cause a system crash, leading to a Denial of Service (DoS).
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's IP Generic Routing Encapsulation (ip_gre) component. This vulnerability allows a local attacker with network administration capabilities in one network namespace to modify a tunnel residing in a different network namespace where they lack privileges. This is due to an insufficient capability check in the `changelink()` function, which only verifies permissions in the device's network namespace and not the tunnel's. Successful exploitation could lead to unauthorized alteration of network tunnel configurations, potentially causing network disruption or redirection of traffic.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's IPv6 networking stack. An unprivileged local user could exploit a vulnerability in how IPv6 extension header lengths are handled. By manipulating these headers using nftables, an attacker can trigger an out-of-bounds read, leading to information disclosure from kernel memory.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's IPv6 extension header processing. When processing the Home Address Option (HAO), the cached network header pointer may become invalid if the packet's memory is reallocated. This can lead to incorrect parsing of subsequent IPv6 Type-Length-Value (TLV) options, potentially causing unexpected network behavior or a denial of service.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's handling of IPv6 extended headers. Specifically, the `ipv6_hop_jumbo()` function, which processes jumbo payloads, can modify internal packet buffer (skb) pointers. However, the network header (nh) pointer is not recomputed after these modifications. This oversight could lead to incorrect data processing, potentially causing system instability or a denial of service (DoS) due to malformed packets.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low-Power and Lossy Networks (RPL) segment routing header (SRH) decompression function, ipv6_rpl_srh_decompress(). An integer overflow occurs when processing a specially crafted IPv6 packet, causing the header length calculation to truncate. This truncation leads to an overlap between the compressed header and decompressed data, which can result in the corruption of the routing header in forwarded packets. This vulnerability could allow a remote attacker to cause data corruption.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's `tunnels` module. This vulnerability occurs when the `iptunnel_pmtud_check_icmp()` function is called without the `skb transport header` being properly set. An attacker could exploit this condition to trigger an out-of-bound memory access, which may lead to system instability or a denial of service.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN) module. This vulnerability occurs because a cached IP header pointer is improperly reused after a Path Maximum Transmission Unit (PMTU) check. When the packet's head is modified during the PMTU check, the old cached IP header pointer becomes invalid, leading to a Use-After-Free (UAF) condition. This memory corruption flaw can potentially allow an attacker to cause a system crash or execute arbitrary code.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's tunnels module. This vulnerability, categorized as a Use-After-Free (UAF), arises from improper handling of network header pointers during certain packet processing operations. Specifically, functions responsible for building Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) packets for Path MTU Discovery (PMTUD) cache header information before memory reallocations, which can lead to the use of freed memory. A local attacker could potentially leverage this to cause a system crash, resulting in a denial of service.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Server Message Block (SMB) client. A double-free vulnerability exists in the SMB2_ioctl() replay path, where a response buffer can be freed twice under specific error conditions. A malicious or compromised SMB server could exploit this by sending crafted responses during an I/O control (ioctl) replay sequence. This could lead to a remote denial of service due to a kernel crash, and potentially allow for privilege escalation.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Bluetooth L2CAP component. A race condition exists during the handling of new Bluetooth connections, where a newly created socket can be prematurely freed by another process before a callback function completes its operation. This use-after-free vulnerability could allow a local attacker to potentially execute arbitrary code or cause a system crash (Denial of Service).
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's VXLAN (Virtual Extensible LAN) implementation. A local attacker, with `CAP_NET_ADMIN` (network administration capability) in one network namespace, could exploit an incorrect privilege check in the `rtnl changelink` path. This allows the attacker to modify the configuration of a VXLAN device whose underlying network interface resides in a different network namespace where the attacker lacks the necessary privileges, potentially leading to unauthorized network configuration changes.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's `ip6_gre` and `ip6erspan` tunnel drivers. The `changelink` functions in these drivers do not adequately verify administrative capabilities (`CAP_NET_ADMIN`) across different network namespaces. This allows a local attacker, who has `CAP_NET_ADMIN` in one network namespace but not in the tunnel's network namespace, to modify the tunnel's configuration. This could lead to unauthorized changes to network tunnel settings.
A flaw was found in the `dm-integrity` component of the Linux kernel. This vulnerability arises from an error where a `hash_offset` variable is incremented twice, leading to incorrect memory access. A local attacker could exploit this issue to trigger a system crash, resulting in a denial of service.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's netfilter component, specifically within the `nf_queue` functionality. When a bridged packet is queued to NFQUEUE, it can retain a reference to a bridge's private fake destination ('dst') even after the bridge teardown has begun. This can lead to a use-after-free vulnerability, where memory is accessed after it has been deallocated, potentially causing system instability or a denial of service.
A flaw was found in the KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) arm64 vgic (Virtual Generic Interrupt Controller) component of the Linux kernel. During interrupt migration, the vgic_prune_ap_list() function temporarily drops and reacquires locks. If an interrupt is removed from the active processor list (ap_list) during this unlocked period, a subsequent check for interrupt affinity may still pass, leading to a double deletion of the interrupt from the list. This double free-like condition could potentially lead to system instability or denial of service.
A flaw was found in KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine). When the Advanced Virtual Interrupt Controller (AVIC) is inhibited while a nested guest (L2) is active, KVM fails to properly update x2APIC MSR intercepts for the primary guest (L1). This allows the L1 guest to read the host's APIC state, send arbitrary interrupts, and change task priority, ultimately leading to a Denial of Service (DoS) of the host system.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's netfilter Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) connection tracking module (nf_conntrack_sip). A remote attacker could send specially crafted SIP messages that cause an integer overflow during Network Address Translation (NAT) rewrite delta calculations. This overflow leads to a use-after-free vulnerability, which can result in memory corruption and potentially a denial of service or arbitrary code execution.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's IP Virtual Server (IPVS) component. When processing Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) errors for tunneled packets, the system can incorrectly use a stale IPv4 option offset. A remote attacker could exploit this by sending a specially crafted ICMP packet, leading to a stack out-of-bounds write. This vulnerability could result in a denial of service or potentially arbitrary code execution.
A flaw was found in the netfilter flowtable component of the Linux kernel. This vulnerability occurs due to a timing issue where the system's garbage collection can free a network flow while it is still being set up. This can lead to a 'use-after-free' condition, where the system attempts to access memory that has already been released. This memory corruption could potentially result in a system crash (denial of service) or, in certain circumstances, allow for arbitrary code execution.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's IPv6 networking stack. A use-after-free vulnerability exists in the `ip6_finish_output2()` function, where a cached pointer to the IPv6 destination address can become stale after memory reallocation. An attacker could potentially exploit this to leak sensitive kernel data, misdirect network traffic, or cause a system crash (Denial of Service).
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's KVM s390 Virtual Shared Inter-Partition Emulation (VSIE) component. When shadowing crypto access bits from a format0 apcb, stale crypto bits were not properly cleared. This oversight could allow a nested guest to potentially access a device that should no longer be available, leading to unauthorized information disclosure or access to resources.
A flaw was found in the NVMe-TCP implementation of the Linux kernel. This vulnerability occurs when the system completes a data read request even if the connected controller transfers fewer bytes than expected. As a result, the user application receives a mix of legitimate and stale data, potentially leading to information disclosure or data integrity issues.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) over TCP (nvme-tcp) component. A malicious NVMe controller can exploit this vulnerability by sending a Ready to Transfer (R2T) command for a read request. The host system, failing to properly validate the request direction, will then send the contents of its read destination buffer to the controller. This can lead to the disclosure of stale kernel memory data, potentially revealing sensitive information.
A flaw was found in the NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) driver of the Linux kernel. The nvme_alloc_ns() function's error handling path fails to wait for all SRCU (Sleepable Read-Copy Update) readers to complete before freeing a namespace structure. This oversight allows a concurrent reader to access a freed memory region, leading to a use-after-free vulnerability. A local attacker could potentially exploit this to cause a system crash or achieve arbitrary code execution.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) input/output control (ioctl) handling. An unprivileged local user could exploit this vulnerability by bypassing access checks in the `NVME_IOCTL_SUBMIT_IO` function. This allows them to perform unauthorized I/O operations on a partition device or write to a read-only file descriptor, potentially leading to privilege escalation or unauthorized data modification.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's netfilter subsystem. When a network namespace is dismantled, the packet logging component frees memory without waiting for ongoing logging operations to complete, resulting in a use-after-free condition. A local attacker could exploit this flaw during network traffic processing to cause a system crash, leading to a Denial of Service (DoS), or potentially execute arbitrary code.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's netfilter connection tracking subsystem. The TCP option processing mechanism improperly assumes memory alignment when reading packet headers. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted TCP packets with misaligned SACK options through a system running conntrack (e.g., Linux firewall/NAT using iptables/nftables), causing a memory access fault that leads to a kernel panic and Denial of Service (DoS).
