Title
Budibase before 3.40.0 Authentication Bypass via Tenant Owner Email
Summary
Budibase versions before 3.40.0 contain an authorization/authentication bypass in the PUT /api/global/users/tenant/owner (changeTenantOwnerEmail) endpoint. On self-hosted instances (SELF_HOSTED or DISABLE_ACCOUNT_PORTAL set), the cloudRestricted middleware is a no-op and the route is protected only by a general authentication check, so any authenticated user — including a lowest-privilege BASIC app user — can reassign the tenant account-holder (top-privilege admin) email to an attacker-controlled address. The attacker can then use the public password-reset flow to take over the admin account, leading to full administrative access.

Title
n8n before 2.32.1 Authentication Bypass via Token Exchange
Summary
n8n before 2.32.1 (and before 2.31.5) is vulnerable to account takeover via the Token Exchange Embed Login feature. When a validly-signed incoming token was matched to a local account by its email claim, the service did not verify that the email claim was verified, nor that the trusted key's permitted role ceiling covered that account. As a result, anyone able to obtain a token accepted by a configured trusted key (for example, a trusted issuer emitting unverified email addresses) could authenticate as any existing user and gain full account control. This issue only affects instances where the embed login feature is enabled and at least one trusted key source is configured.

CVE-2026-64635 (GCVE-0-2026-64635)

Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-07-30 06:02 – Updated: 2026-07-30 12:44
VLAI
Summary
Improper handling of the returnUrl parameter in the Forgot Password function of Veeam Service Provider Console allows an unauthenticated attacker to control the domain of the generated password reset link. When the targeted user clicks the link delivered by email, the reset code is transmitted to an attacker-controlled host, allowing the attacker to take over the account.

Title
Capgo - Insufficient Authentication in Email Change Endpoint
Summary
Capgo before 12.128.2 allows email address changes without requiring current password re-authentication or verification of the existing email address. An attacker with access to a valid session cookie or authenticated browser can change the account email to gain control of account recovery and bypass multi-factor authentication protections.

Title
Cap-go - Account Lockout via 2FA Misconfiguration on Unverified Email
Summary
Cap-go before 12.128.2 contains an authentication logic flaw that lets an attacker register and control an account bound to a victim's email address before that email is verified. By enabling two-factor authentication on the pre-registered account, the attacker gains control over the account claimed under the victim's identity, allowing them to read and modify its state and enforce organization-level policies, while the legitimate user is denied access to the account tied to their own email.

Title
Pimcore: Account Takeover via Password Reset URL Injection allows unauthenticated attacker to hijack any admin account with 2FA bypass
Summary
Pimcore is an Open Source Data & Experience Management Platform. Prior to 2025.4.6 and 2026.1.6, an unauthenticated attacker who knows a valid admin username can take over any Pimcore admin account by sending a password reset request with an attacker-controlled resetPasswordUrl. The server generates a real cryptographic recovery token, appends it to the supplied URL, and emails the link to the victim; when the victim clicks the link, the token is sent to the attacker and can be used with POST /pimcore-studio/api/login/token to authenticate with full admin privileges while bypassing two-factor authentication. This issue is fixed in versions 2025.4.6 and 2026.1.6.

CVE-2026-53904 (GCVE-0-2026-53904)

Title
Account Denial of Service in MCO
Summary
MCO is vulnerable to Account Denial of Service due to improper implementation of password reset functionality. Each password reset request invalidates previously set password as well as previously issued temporary passwords, furthermore, password resets are not limited in any way. An attacker who provides victim's email and answer to their security question, can successfully initiate the reset process and continuously invalidate credentials, effectively locking the victim out of their account. Answering security questions has a limited number of tries which lowers the risk of this vulnerability. Because vendor contact attempts were unsuccessful, the vulnerability has only been confirmed in version 25.3.3.1 but may also affect other versions.

Title
FOSSBilling: Client password reset token reuse allows persistent account takeover
Summary
FOSSBilling is a free, open-source billing and client management system. In versions 0.5.6 through 0.7.2, when a `ClientPasswordReset` record already exists for a client (from a previous unexpired reset request), subsequent calls to the `reset_password` guest API endpoint reuse the existing token instead of generating a new one. The 15-minute validity window is anchored to the first request's `created_at` timestamp, not the time of the most recent email. An attacker who obtained the original reset link remains able to use it even after the victim requests a new reset, because the original token is never invalidated or rotated. Version 0.8.0 patches the issue. Some workarounds are available. Configure a reverse proxy (e.g., Nginx, Apache, Cloudflare) to apply per-IP rate limiting to the `/client/reset-password` endpoint to minimize the window of opportunity, and/or manually clear expired `client_password_reset` records from the database after a client reports a suspected compromise.

"value": "FOSSBilling is a free, open-source billing and client management system. In versions 0.5.6 through 0.7.2, when a `ClientPasswordReset` record already exists for a client (from a previous unexpired reset request), subsequent calls to the `reset_password` guest API endpoint reuse the existing token instead of generating a new one. The 15-minute validity window is anchored to the first request\u0027s `created_at` timestamp, not the time of the most recent email. An attacker who obtained the original reset link remains able to use it even after the victim requests a new reset, because the original token is never invalidated or rotated. Version 0.8.0 patches the issue. Some workarounds are available. Configure a reverse proxy (e.g., Nginx, Apache, Cloudflare) to apply per-IP rate limiting to the `/client/reset-password` endpoint to minimize the window of opportunity, and/or manually clear expired `client_password_reset` records from the database after a client reports a suspected compromise."

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Make sure that all input supplied by the user to the password recovery mechanism is thoroughly filtered and validated.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Do not use standard weak security questions and use several security questions.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Make sure that there is throttling on the number of incorrect answers to a security question. Disable the password recovery functionality after a certain (small) number of incorrect guesses.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Require that the user properly answers the security question prior to resetting their password and sending the new password to the e-mail address of record.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Never allow the user to control what e-mail address the new password will be sent to in the password recovery mechanism.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Assign a new temporary password rather than revealing the original password.

CAPEC-50: Password Recovery Exploitation

An attacker may take advantage of the application feature to help users recover their forgotten passwords in order to gain access into the system with the same privileges as the original user. Generally password recovery schemes tend to be weak and insecure.
