Title
Langflow: Unauthenticated file upload leads to DoS (space exhaustion) and information leak
Summary
Langflow is a tool for building and deploying AI-powered agents and workflows. Prior to 1.9.1, unauthenticated users can upload any amount of data to the server without any limitations. No need for any prior knowledge, only network access to Langflow. This can lead to space exhaustion on the server. In addition, in the response, the absolute path of the uploaded file is reported to the attacker, which is an information leak that can assist in chaining other primitives. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.9.1.

Prior to 3.0.7, the COMMAND_RESULTS handler in ufo/server/ws/handler.py called get_or_create_session in ufo/server/services/session_manager.py without owner_client_id, allowing an authenticated client to create an unowned attacker-chosen session_id such as constellation_task_id = f"{task_name}@{task_id}" and deny the legitimate owner or exhaust memory with phantom sessions. This issue is fixed in version 3.0.7.

Title
Buffa: Memory Exhaustion Denial of Service in decode_unknown_field via Unbounded Allocation
Summary
Buffa is a pure-Rust Protocol Buffers implementation with first-class protobuf editions support. Prior to 0.8.0, the decode_unknown_field function in buffa's protobuf decoder allocated heap memory in proportion to untrusted input (unknown fields in the serialized protobuf) without enforcing an allocation budget, affecting any message decoded from untrusted input using code generated with preserve_unknown_fields=true (the default); a small, well-formed payload of nested unknown fields inside a StartGroup could trigger roughly 22x memory amplification (for example a 64 MiB input forcing about 1.4 GB of heap allocation), and length-delimited unknown fields could be sized arbitrarily, so an unauthenticated attacker could crash a process through memory exhaustion because the top-level message size cap did not account for in-decode amplification. This issue is fixed in version 0.8.0.

Title
OpenEXR: OpenEXRUtil SampleCountChannel endEdit() can loop forever on UINT_MAX sample counts
Summary
OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. Versions prior to 3.2.10, 3.3.12, and 3.4.13 contain an infinite-loop vulnerability in SampleCountChannel. The helper roundListSizeUp() rounds a sample-list size up to the next power of two using repeated unsigned left shifts, which terminates for normal values but fails for UINT_MAX: the sequence reaches 0x80000000, and the next left shift wraps the 32-bit value to 0. Because 0 remains less than UINT_MAX, the loop never progresses and never exits. plone.app.portlets: Denial of service via RSS feed portlet
Summary
plone.app.portlets provides portlets and a Plone-specific user interface for plone.portlets. Prior to 5.0.8, 6.0.4, and 7.0.2, a member who can add an RSS portlet can set its feed URL to a very large response, causing src/plone/app/portlets/portlets/rss.py to download and retain excessive data in memory and deny service. The same RSS URL handling accepts internal hosts, IP addresses, single-word domains, and explicit ports, allowing server-side requests that can probe internal network services and open ports. A malicious feed item can also supply a JavaScript URL that is retained as the item link and can execute script when used by a victim. The affected logic includes _rss_feed_url_validator, _normal_url_validator, RSSFeed._retrieveFeed, RSSFeed._buildItemDict, and the FEED_DATA in-memory cache. This issue is fixed in versions 5.0.8, 6.0.4, and 7.0.2.

Title
plone.app.event: Denial of service via iCalendar import
Summary
plone.app.event provides the event content type for Plone. Prior to versions 5.2.4 and 6.0.1, the iCalendar import in src/plone/app/event/ical/importer.py accepts insufficiently restricted calendar and event URLs, does not adequately bound downloaded bytes or imported events, and commits work per event. A logged-in editor can make the server request internal network resources or local calendar files, exhaust resources and take the site offline, and store a malicious event URL that executes script in another user's browser. The fix restricts accepted URLs, applies MAXIMUM_ICAL_IMPORT_SIZE_BYTES and MAXIMUM_ICAL_IMPORT_EVENTS limits, uses transaction savepoints, and validates event URLs. This issue is fixed in versions 5.2.4 and 6.0.1.

Checkmate is an open-source, self-hosted tool designed to track and monitor server hardware, uptime, response times, and incidents in real-time with beautiful visualizations. Prior to 3.9.1, the public POST /api/v1/auth/register route in server/src/api/routes/authRoutes.ts passes multipart profileImage uploads through in-memory Multer parsing before registration validation, without file-size, file-count, or MIME-type limits in server/src/api/middleware/upload.ts. An unauthenticated attacker can submit concurrent oversized files that are buffered before invalid registration or invite-token checks reject the request, exhausting memory and crashing or destabilizing the backend. KubeVela Terraform remote loader DoS via unbounded file read
Summary
KubeVela is an open source application delivery platform. Prior to 1.9.14, from 1.10.0-alpha.1 until 1.10.9, and from 1.11.0-alpha.1 until 1.11.0-alpha.4, the Terraform remote configuration loader in pkg/controller/utils/capability.go, GetTerraformConfigurationFromRemote, clones a repository supplied through a core.oam.dev/v1beta1 ComponentDefinition and follows repository-controlled variables.tf or main.tf symlinks. A user with permission to create or update ComponentDefinition objects can point variables.tf to /dev/zero through terraform.path, after which os.Stat and os.ReadFile follow the link and read an unbounded stream before ParseTerraformVariables or HCL parsing can reject the content. The read can exhaust memory, OOM-kill the cluster-wide vela-core controller, cause repeated Pod restarts, and pressure node memory when no effective container limit is configured. This issue is fixed in versions 1.9.14, 1.10.9, and 1.11.0-alpha.4.

Title
icalendar: Algorithmic Complexity in Equality
Summary
icalendar is an RFC 5545 compatible parser and generator of iCalendar files for Python. From 7.1.0 until 7.1.3, the Component equality method in src/icalendar/cal/component.py compares nested subcomponents with two membership loops, and each membership test invokes the same method on child components, causing O(2^n) work relative to nesting depth. Component.from_ical accepts arbitrarily nested BEGIN:VEVENT blocks without a depth limit, so an attacker can submit a sub-kilobyte .ics file containing equal nested subtrees and trigger the cost when an application performs equality, inequality, membership, deduplication, test-assertion, round-trip, or normalization comparisons. Parsing alone does not trigger the issue, and comparisons that differ early short-circuit, but a few hundred bytes can pin a CPU core for minutes or indefinitely, causing denial of service in calendar sync or import endpoints, invite processing, and other comparison paths. This issue is fixed in version 7.1.3.

Architecture and Design

Design throttling mechanisms into the system architecture. The best protection is to limit the amount of resources that an unauthorized user can cause to be expended. A strong authentication and access control model will help prevent such attacks from occurring in the first place. The login application should be protected against DoS attacks as much as possible. Limiting the database access, perhaps by caching result sets, can help minimize the resources expended. To further limit the potential for a DoS attack, consider tracking the rate of requests received from users and blocking requests that exceed a defined rate threshold.

  • The first of these solutions is an issue in itself though, since it may allow attackers to prevent the use of the system by a particular valid user. If the attacker impersonates the valid user, they may be able to prevent the user from accessing the server in question.

CAPEC-147: XML Ping of the Death

An attacker initiates a resource depletion attack where a large number of small XML messages are delivered at a sufficiently rapid rate to cause a denial of service or crash of the target. Transactions such as repetitive SOAP transactions can deplete resources faster than a simple flooding attack because of the additional resources used by the SOAP protocol and the resources necessary to process SOAP messages. The transactions used are immaterial as long as they cause resource utilization on the target. In other words, this is a normal flooding attack augmented by using messages that will require extra processing on the target.

CAPEC-227: Sustained Client Engagement

An adversary attempts to deny legitimate users access to a resource by continually engaging a specific resource in an attempt to keep the resource tied up as long as possible. The adversary's primary goal is not to crash or flood the target, which would alert defenders; rather it is to repeatedly perform actions or abuse algorithmic flaws such that a given resource is tied up and not available to a legitimate user. By carefully crafting a requests that keep the resource engaged through what is seemingly benign requests, legitimate users are limited or completely denied access to the resource.

CAPEC-492: Regular Expression Exponential Blowup

An adversary may execute an attack on a program that uses a poor Regular Expression(Regex) implementation by choosing input that results in an extreme situation for the Regex. A typical extreme situation operates at exponential time compared to the input size. This is due to most implementations using a Nondeterministic Finite Automaton(NFA) state machine to be built by the Regex algorithm since NFA allows backtracking and thus more complex regular expressions.
