RHSA-2026:65569
Vulnerability from csaf_redhat - Published: 2026-09-08 17:19 - Updated: 2026-09-21 17:12A flaw was found in Sudo. A local user could exploit a failure in the setuid, setgid, or setgroups calls, which are used to drop privileges before running the mailer. This oversight allows for privilege escalation, enabling the user to gain elevated access on the system.

A flaw was found in Sudo. This vulnerability allows users who are permitted to run specific commands to bypass security policy checks when using the `execveat` system call in ptrace-based intercept mode. By directly calling `execveat` or `fexecve`, an attacker can execute programs that would otherwise be denied, thereby circumventing policy enforcement and logging mechanisms.

This vulnerability allows users who are permitted to run specific commands to bypass security policy checks when using the `execveat` system call in ptrace-based intercept mode. By directly invoking `execveat` or `fexecve` when Sudo is operating in ptrace-based intercept mode, an attacker can execute programs otherwise denied by `sudo` policies. This undermines granular access control and could lead to unauthorized command execution on affected Red Hat systems.",

Related by attack behaviour
Vulnerabilities whose description is nearest to this one in the vector space of the CIRCL/vulnerability-attack-technique-biencoder model. This is a similarity search over the bi-encoder space (plain cosine), not a classification, and it has no measured accuracy.
