RHSA-2026:64775
Vulnerability from csaf_redhat - Published: 2026-09-08 09:06 - Updated: 2026-09-14 01:33A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Controller Area Network (CAN) broadcast manager (BCM). Improper locking during runtime updates of internal counters in the bcm_can_tx() function allows a local attacker to trigger a slab-out-of-bounds read access. This vulnerability can lead to information disclosure or a denial of service (DoS) condition, potentially compromising system stability or sensitive data.

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel. Missing null pointer checks in the IPv6 Segment Routing (SRv6) implementation, specifically within the `seg6_hmac_validate_skb()` and `ipv6_srh_rcv()` functions, can occur when an IPv6 device lacks proper configuration. This oversight may allow an attacker to trigger a null pointer dereference, potentially leading to a system crash and a Denial of Service (DoS).
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's User Datagram Protocol (UDP) implementation. When a significant number of UDP sockets are bound to specific local addresses on the same port, the kernel's conflict detection mechanism can fail. This allows a local attacker to bind to a wildcard address on a port that should already be in use, potentially leading to a Denial of Service (DoS) for legitimate applications attempting to use that port.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's IPv6 networking subsystem. Specifically, a Use-after-Free (UaF) vulnerability exists within the `addrconf_permanent_addr()` function. This issue arises when the system attempts to access an IPv6 address after it has been freed, which could allow an attacker to cause a denial of service or potentially execute arbitrary code.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's TCP networking subsystem. When an established network connection is migrated between listener sockets within the same SO_REUSEPORT group, applications waiting for new connections may not be properly notified. This can cause poll(), epoll_wait(), and blocking accept() calls to remain unresponsive indefinitely, leading to a Denial of Service (DoS) for affected applications.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's handling of RAW sockets using IPPROTO_RAW. A remote attacker could send a specially crafted ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol) packet. This malicious packet could set the protocol field to 255, causing it to be processed by a RAW socket configured for IPPROTO_RAW. This leads to unintended FNHE (Flow N-tuple Hash Entry) cache changes, which could result in unexpected network behavior.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's flow dissector. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending a specially crafted Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) Protocol Field Compression (PFC) frame to an affected system. The incorrect processing of these compressed frames leads to a memory misalignment, which can result in a kernel crash on certain architectures.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's `io_uring/poll` component. A logic error exists in the `io_poll_get_ownership()` function due to an incorrect signed comparison. This flaw prevents the necessary slowpath from being triggered when the `IO_POLL_CANCEL_FLAG` is set, potentially leading to unexpected behavior or resource mismanagement within the kernel.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) subsystem. A local unprivileged user can exploit this vulnerability by creating a new user namespace and bypassing authorization checks for unattached administrative input/output controls (ioctls). This allows the user to perform unauthorized administrative operations on an inherited network namespace, potentially leading to privilege escalation.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's networking component. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to potentially access sensitive information or cause system instability. By sending specially crafted network packets, an attacker can exploit an issue in how the kernel handles timestamping for certain network traffic. This can lead to the disclosure of memory contents or trigger memory corruption.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Simple Internet Transition (SIT) tunnel driver for IPv6. When processing network traffic with Generic Segmentation Offload (GSO) enabled, the driver may use a stale pointer to the inner IPv6 header after the socket buffer (skb) head has been reallocated. This can lead to reading from freed memory, potentially allowing an attacker to cause a denial of service or gain access to sensitive information.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's network Generic Receive Offload (GRO) handling. An attacker sending specially crafted network packets could trigger a bug in the `skb_gro_receive_list()` function. This occurs when the system attempts to process network data that is not in the expected linear memory area, leading to an incorrect buffer length calculation. The flaw can cause a system crash, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel, specifically within its management of IPv6 anycast addresses. A timing issue, known as a race condition, can occur when these addresses are added and removed from a system's internal list. This can lead to the system attempting to access memory that has already been released, a condition known as a use-after-free. Such an issue could potentially cause system instability or a denial of service (DoS), making the system unavailable to users.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's IPv6 multicast (mcast) component. When processing Multicast Listener Discovery (MLD) queries, a pointer to the multicast group address is not correctly reloaded after certain packet manipulations. This can lead to a use-after-free vulnerability, potentially allowing an attacker to cause a denial of service or achieve arbitrary code execution.
A flaw was found in the Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) component of the Linux kernel on arm64 architectures. This vulnerability occurs because certain page table walk operations, used in fault injection and Address Translation (AT) emulation, do not properly acquire a Sleepable Read-Copy Update (SRCU) lock. This omission could lead to inconsistencies in memory slot management, potentially causing system instability or unexpected behavior within the virtualized environment.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN) module. This vulnerability occurs because a cached IP header pointer is improperly reused after a Path Maximum Transmission Unit (PMTU) check. When the packet's head is modified during the PMTU check, the old cached IP header pointer becomes invalid, leading to a Use-After-Free (UAF) condition. This memory corruption flaw can potentially allow an attacker to cause a system crash or execute arbitrary code.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's IPv4 networking component. The `ipv4_sysctl_exit_net()` function prematurely frees the `net->ipv4.sysctl_local_reserved_ports` memory. This can lead to a use-after-free vulnerability, where other threads might attempt to access deallocated memory. Such an issue can result in system instability or a denial of service.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's fuse component. When a fuse request is interrupted and then resent, a specific interrupt entry (`intr_entry`) is not properly cleared. If the requesting task subsequently receives a fatal signal, this uncleared entry can lead to a use-after-free condition. This vulnerability can result in memory corruption, potentially causing a system crash, and may also lead to the disclosure of sensitive data to userspace.
A flaw was found in the Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) component of the Linux kernel on ARM64 systems. A highly privileged local attacker could exploit a vulnerability where the system fails to properly restrict memory access during a specific virtual machine operation. This could allow the attacker to read or write to sensitive memory areas, potentially leading to privilege escalation, where they gain unauthorized higher access, or cause a system crash (denial of service).
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's nvmet-auth component. A remote attacker, by sending a specially crafted NVMe-oF (NVMe over Fabrics) authentication reply message, can cause an out-of-bounds read in the kernel's memory. This vulnerability, exploitable pre-authentication, can lead to the disclosure of sensitive information and potentially a denial of service (DoS) on the affected system.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel. This vulnerability, known as a use-after-free, occurs in the `rhashtable` component when the system improperly handles hash table restarts. An attacker could potentially exploit this by causing the system to access memory that has already been released, which may lead to a system crash (Denial of Service) or, in more severe scenarios, allow for unauthorized code execution or information disclosure.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Server Message Block (SMB) client. A vulnerability exists in the SMB2_close() replay mechanism where a response buffer can be freed twice. This double-free condition can lead to memory corruption, potentially resulting in a denial of service or the execution of arbitrary code.
