"text": "SCOM 2016, 2019, and 2022 customers who monitor Linux machines and use Kerberos-based authentication are impacted by this vulnerability.\nOMI supports Kerberos as one of the authentication mechanisms. This authentication mechanism is only used by SCOM, with no Azure service using it. A fixed temp file is used while keeping omi keytab in sync with the default keytab. The temp file can be manipulated by an attacker to insert a new key in the omi keytab and gain elevated privileges on the machine. The attacker must be locally logged in to the machine on which the OMI components are running.\nThe following table lists the affected services and the required customer action to protect against this vulnerability.\nOMI as standalone package: OMI as standalone package, OMI version v1.6.10-2: OMI version v1.6.10-2, Manually download the update here: Manually download the update here, System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) Management Pack for UNIX and Linux Operating Systems: System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) Management Pack for UNIX and Linux Operating Systems, Management Pack for SCOM 2016: 7.6.1113.0: Management Pack for SCOM 2016: 7.6.1113.0, Manually download and update the 2016 management pack: 2016: Manually download and update the 2016 management pack: 2016, : , Management Pack for SCOM 2019: 10.19.1158.0: Management Pack for SCOM 2019: 10.19.1158.0, Manually download and update the 2019 management pack: 2019: Manually download and update the 2019 management pack: 2019, : , Management Pack for SCOM 2022: 10.22.1032.0: Management Pack for SCOM 2022: 10.22.1032.0, Manually download and update the 2022 management pack: 2022: Manually download and update the 2022 management pack: 2022\nOther Azure services are not impacted by this vulnerability as they do not use Kerberos-based authentication. A Linux VM that is being monitored by SCOM, where SCOM has been configured to use Kerberos-based authentication is the only scenario which is impacted.",
