Title
Incorrect Authorization in Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes Leading to Unauthorized Modification of Data
Summary
Incorrect Authorization (CWE-863) in Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK) can lead to unauthorized modification of data via Metadata Spoofing (CAPEC-690). An actor holding limited Kubernetes permissions confined to a single namespace could cause attacker-controlled certificate material to be included in the Elasticsearch client trust bundle managed by ECK in a separate namespace.

Title
Incorrect Authorization in Kibana Leading to Unauthorized Disclosure, Modification, and Deletion of Data
Summary
Incorrect Authorization (CWE-863) in Kibana can lead to unauthorized disclosure, modification, and deletion of data via Accessing Functionality Not Properly Constrained by ACLs (CAPEC-1). Where two authenticated principals originating from different authentication realms share the same username value, one could read, modify, and delete the other's private Elastic AI Assistant Knowledge Base entries.

Title
Incorrect Authorization in Kibana Leading to Unauthorized Cross-Space Exposure of Machine Learning Job Data
Summary
Incorrect Authorization (CWE-863) in the Kibana machine learning feature can lead to information disclosure via Exploiting Incorrectly Configured Access Control Security Levels (CAPEC-180). An authenticated user holding machine learning job management privileges within a single Kibana space could cause a job's saved object to become accessible across all spaces in the Kibana instance, without holding access rights to those additional spaces.

Title
Incorrect Authorization in Fleet Server Leading to Denial of Service of Agent Upload Operations
Summary
Incorrect Authorization (CWE-863) in Fleet Server can lead to a denial of service of agent upload operations via Privilege Abuse (CAPEC-122). Fleet Server does not correctly verify session ownership during multi-part data upload operations, allowing any authenticated agent to interfere with the active upload sessions belonging to other enrolled agents.

Title
Incorrect Authorization in Kibana Leading to Privilege Escalation
Summary
Incorrect Authorization (CWE-863) in Kibana can lead to privilege escalation via Input Data Manipulation (CAPEC-153). Elasticsearch cluster privilege declarations originating from integration packages were not validated before being used to mint credentials for enrolled Elastic Agents. A user holding Fleet management privileges could therefore cause every Elastic Agent on a targeted policy to receive a credential carrying arbitrarily elevated Elasticsearch cluster privileges, up to and including full cluster administration.

Title
Dolibarr 21.0.0 < 24.0.0 Authorization Bypass via clonetasks Mass Action
Summary
Dolibarr 21.0.0 before 24.0.0 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability caused by an inverted boolean condition in the private-project membership check within the clonetasks mass action handler in htdocs/core/actions_massactions.inc.php. Authenticated users with project creation permission but without access to a target private project can exploit the flawed !in_array() check to clone tasks into unauthorized private projects.

Title
SeaweedFS: Authenticated S3 object-scope bypass in PutObjectAcl allows overwriting a different object with the same basename
Summary
SeaweedFS is a distributed storage system for files and blobs. In versions prior to 4.40, an authenticated S3 principal with permissions scoped to a nested object key can overwrite a different object outside that scope by calling PutObjectAcl on the key it is allowed to access. The handler authorizes the request against the requested nested key but then writes the updated entry back to the bucket root rather than the key's actual parent directory, so an ACL change on allowed/protected.txt is instead applied to protected.txt at the bucket root. Because the update carries the full entry rather than only ACL metadata, an existing target object is overwritten with the content, metadata, owner information, and ACL of the scoped object, bypassing the object-level action scoping configured through the static S3 identity file. This issue is fixed in version 4.40.

Title
Weblate: Object-scoped RSS feeds disclose private change history to unauthorized users
Summary
Weblate is a web-based continuous localization platform used to manage software translations. In versions prior to 2026.8, Weblate's object-scoped RSS feeds do not apply the permission checks used elsewhere, allowing unauthorized users to read change-history metadata from private projects and restricted components. On installations that permit anonymous access, this metadata can be retrieved without any authentication. The exposed information can include project and component identities, contributor usernames and full names, action types, timestamps, and translation or unit links, though translated-string content is not included in the feed. Installations using private projects or restricted components are affected. This issue is fixed in version 2026.8.

CVE-2026-77454 (GCVE-0-2026-77454)

Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-08-30 12:01 – Updated: 2026-08-31 15:00

Title
exists/2 predicate silently dropped on limited relationships with a parent() filter in AshSql
Summary
Incorrect Authorization vulnerability in ash-project ash_sql allows a caller to bypass a scoping or authorization filter expressed as exists/2 over a relationship that declares both a limit (or from_many?) and a parent(...)-referencing filter or sort. AshSql.Join.related_query/3 skips the caller-supplied exists predicate for such relationships and delegates it to limit_from_many/5. When the relationship's own filter or sort references parent(...), limit_from_many/5 takes a branch that drops both the limit and the predicate, emitting a bare correlated EXISTS with no predicate. The check then matches any record that has any related row. Most severely, when the expression backs a policy (for example authorize_if expr(exists(memberships, user_id == ^actor(:id)))), the actor-scoping condition disappears and the policy passes for any actor with any related row. This issue affects ash_sql: from 0.4.1 before 0.7.1.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • Divide the product into anonymous, normal, privileged, and administrative areas. Reduce the attack surface by carefully mapping roles with data and functionality. Use role-based access control (RBAC) [REF-229] to enforce the roles at the appropriate boundaries.
  • Note that this approach may not protect against horizontal authorization, i.e., it will not protect a user from attacking others with the same role.
Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Ensure that access control checks are performed related to the business logic. These checks may be different than the access control checks that are applied to more generic resources such as files, connections, processes, memory, and database records. For example, a database may restrict access for medical records to a specific database user, but each record might only be intended to be accessible to the patient and the patient's doctor [REF-7].

Mitigation MIT-4.4
Architecture and Design

Strategy: Libraries or Frameworks

  • Use a vetted library or framework that does not allow this weakness to occur or provides constructs that make this weakness easier to avoid.
  • For example, consider using authorization frameworks such as the JAAS Authorization Framework [REF-233] and the OWASP ESAPI Access Control feature [REF-45].
Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • For web applications, make sure that the access control mechanism is enforced correctly at the server side on every page. Users should not be able to access any unauthorized functionality or information by simply requesting direct access to that page.
  • One way to do this is to ensure that all pages containing sensitive information are not cached, and that all such pages restrict access to requests that are accompanied by an active and authenticated session token associated with a user who has the required permissions to access that page.
Mitigation
System Configuration Installation

Use the access control capabilities of your operating system and server environment and define your access control lists accordingly. Use a "default deny" policy when defining these ACLs.
