Title
MLflow: LogInputs endpoint bypasses per-run UPDATE authorization in basic-auth
Summary
MLflow is an open source AI engineering platform for agents, large language models, and machine learning models. From 3.13.0 until 3.15.0, LogInputs is absent from BEFORE_REQUEST_HANDLERS in the mlflow/server/auth package, allowing any authenticated user to call POST /api/2.0/mlflow/runs/log-inputs for another user's run_id and inject attacker-controlled DatasetInput records into the dataset_inputs lineage metadata without UPDATE permission. This issue is fixed in version 3.15.0.

Title
OpenIM Server v3.8.3 Missing Authorization on User and Group Enumeration Endpoints
Summary
OpenIM Server v3.8.3 contains a missing authorization vulnerability that allows any authenticated user to access admin-only management API endpoints by submitting POST requests with a regular user bearer token to /user/get_users, /user/get_all_users_uid, and /group/get_groups. Attackers can exploit the absent authverify.CheckAdmin() call in the GetPaginationUsers, GetAllUserID, and GetGroups handlers to enumerate all platform user accounts including userIDs, nicknames, and manager level flags, as well as all groups including private groups the user has never joined, exposing group names, owner IDs, and member counts.

Cap v0.3.1 Broken Access Control via video comment endpoint
Summary
Cap v0.3.1 contains a broken access control vulnerability in the POST /api/video/comment endpoint that allows authenticated users to post comments on any private video without permission by supplying an arbitrary videoId in the request body. Attackers can inject comments into private video recordings belonging to other users, trigger comment notification emails to the video owner, and enumerate valid video IDs through response differences.

Admidio before 5.0.11 Cross-Organization Role Modification
Summary
Admidio before 5.0.11 fails to validate target organization membership in role handlers, allowing authenticated role administrators to delete, activate, deactivate, or edit roles belonging to other organizations. Attackers can supply a role UUID from another organization to groups_roles.php handlers to modify that organization's roles without authorization.

Title
Apache NiFi: Missing Authorization for Components Referenced by Parameter Context Updates
Summary
Apache NiFI 1.10.0 through 2.10.0 provide a Parameter Context update REST API method that does not enforce authorization checking on components referencing Parameter values. Updating a Parameter Context can change parameter values that affect referencing components, but framework authorization was limited to read and write privileges on the Parameter Context itself. As a result of the missing authorization, an authenticated user authorized to modify a Parameter Context, but not authorized on referencing components, could alter Parameter values affecting those components. In deployments where a Parameter value contains executable scripting content, updating a Parameter can result in code execution during automatic component validation, without starting the referencing component. The impact was limited to stopped components by existing verification checks, and the issue applies only to deployments that use component-level authorization policies. Upgrading to Apache NiFi 2.11.0 is the recommended mitigation, which aligns the Parameter Context update method authorization with other methods, adding authorization checking on affected components.

Title
Apache Airflow: Cross-team authorization bypass in the asset materialization and dag-run result endpoints
Summary
Apache Airflow's asset materialization endpoint (`POST /api/v2/assets/{asset_id}/materialize`) and the XCom result check on `wait_dag_run_until_finished` authorized the target Dag without its team, unlike every other authorization site. A team-aware auth manager distinguishes a team-scoped Dag from a global one by that field -- the Keycloak auth manager, for example, checks the `DAG` resource instead of `DAG:<team>` -- so the team-scoped permission that should gate the request was never consulted. In a deployment running multi-team mode with a team-aware auth manager, an authenticated user in one team could trigger Dag runs belonging to another team, supplying their own `dag_run_id` and `conf`, and could read another team's XCom values. Deployments using the FAB auth manager are unaffected, as it has no multi-team support. Users are advised to upgrade to apache-airflow 3.3.1 or later, which resolves the Dag's team at both sites.

FastGPT: Unauthenticated WeChat channel hijack and denial of service via shareId-only authorization
Summary
FastGPT is an open-source LLM platform for building AI applications on a knowledge base. In versions prior to 4.15.2, the WeChat (iLink) share-channel endpoints authorize requests using only the public shareId, with no authenticated identity or team-ownership check. As a result, an unauthenticated attacker who knows a victim team's shareId can take that team's WeChat bot offline or hijack the channel to their own bot: the logout endpoint is gated only by an existence check yet wipes the outLink's stored WeChat token, and the QR-code status endpoint performs no authorization at all and writes attacker-supplied bot credentials into the outLink identified by shareId. By generating a QR for a victim shareId, scanning it with their own WeChat, and calling the status endpoint, an attacker binds the victim team's app to the attacker's bot, exposing the app's private responses, displacing the legitimate binding, and consuming the victim's resources. The shareId is exposed in every shared chat URL, iframe, and embed, so it is not a secret. This issue is fixed in version 4.15.2.

Architecture and Design
  • Divide the product into anonymous, normal, privileged, and administrative areas. Reduce the attack surface by carefully mapping roles with data and functionality. Use role-based access control (RBAC) [REF-229] to enforce the roles at the appropriate boundaries.
  • Note that this approach may not protect against horizontal authorization, i.e., it will not protect a user from attacking others with the same role.

Ensure that access control checks are performed related to the business logic. These checks may be different than the access control checks that are applied to more generic resources such as files, connections, processes, memory, and database records. For example, a database may restrict access for medical records to a specific database user, but each record might only be intended to be accessible to the patient and the patient's doctor [REF-7].

Strategy: Libraries or Frameworks

  • Use a vetted library or framework that does not allow this weakness to occur or provides constructs that make this weakness easier to avoid.
  • For example, consider using authorization frameworks such as the JAAS Authorization Framework [REF-233] and the OWASP ESAPI Access Control feature [REF-45].

  • For web applications, make sure that the access control mechanism is enforced correctly at the server side on every page. Users should not be able to access any unauthorized functionality or information by simply requesting direct access to that page.
  • One way to do this is to ensure that all pages containing sensitive information are not cached, and that all such pages restrict access to requests that are accompanied by an active and authenticated session token associated with a user who has the required permissions to access that page.

System Configuration Installation

Use the access control capabilities of your operating system and server environment and define your access control lists accordingly. Use a "default deny" policy when defining these ACLs.

CAPEC-665: Exploitation of Thunderbolt Protection Flaws

An adversary leverages a firmware weakness within the Thunderbolt protocol, on a computing device to manipulate Thunderbolt controller firmware in order to exploit vulnerabilities in the implementation of authorization and verification schemes within Thunderbolt protection mechanisms. Upon gaining physical access to a target device, the adversary conducts high-level firmware manipulation of the victim Thunderbolt controller SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) flash, through the use of a SPI Programing device and an external Thunderbolt device, typically as the target device is booting up. If successful, this allows the adversary to modify memory, subvert authentication mechanisms, spoof identities and content, and extract data and memory from the target device. Currently 7 major vulnerabilities exist within Thunderbolt protocol with 9 attack vectors as noted in the Execution Flow.
