Title
net: gtp: Fix Use-After-Free in gtp_dellink
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: gtp: Fix Use-After-Free in gtp_dellink
Since call_rcu, which is called in the hlist_for_each_entry_rcu traversal
of gtp_dellink, is not part of the RCU read critical section, it
is possible that the RCU grace period will pass during the traversal and
the key will be free.
To prevent this, it should be changed to hlist_for_each_entry_safe.
Severity
7.8 (High)
SSVC
Exploitation: none
Automatable: no
Technical Impact: partial

Received GTP-U packets only look up PDP contexts and never reach the deletion path, so no remote packet can drive the vulnerable traversal.\nAC:L - The attacker controls both sides of the race: they choose the hash size and the number of PDP contexts (lengthening the unprotected traversal), can pin CPUs and generate load to force preemption inside the window, and can drive RCU grace periods from other tasks. On preemptible-RCU kernels the grace period reliably completes mid-loop, and heap grooming to reallocate the freed `pdp_ctx` is standard slab-spray work under attacker control.\nPR:L - The trigger is gated by `netlink_net_capable(CAP_NET_ADMIN)`, which is satisfied with CAP_NET_ADMIN inside a user-namespace-owned netns (`unshare -Urn`), and the netns-teardown path runs gtp_dellink automatically when such a namespace is destroyed. In containerized mobile-core deployments the PDP contexts are populated by a privileged daemon from remote signaling, so a userns-root attacker needs no real root to reach the vulnerable loop.\nUI:N - The attacker performs the link deletion or namespace exit themselves; no action by any other user or administrator is required.\nS:U - The use-after-free corrupts kernel heap memory within the same security authority; there is no crossing of a VM, IOMMU, or hypervisor boundary.\nC:H - The traversal reads a freed `pdp_ctx` whose contents the attacker can control via heap spraying, and the resulting attacker-influenced pointer is dereferenced as a `pdp_ctx`, enabling controlled reads of kernel memory and full kernel-memory disclosure once combined with the write primitive.\nI:H - The stale pointer is passed to `pdp_context_delete()`, so `hlist_del_rcu()` performs an unlink write (`*pprev = next; next-\u003epprev = pprev`) at attacker-influenced addresses, and the queued `pdp_context_free()` later does `sock_put()` on an arbitrary pointer plus an arbitrary `kfree()` \u2014 a path to arbitrary write and privilege escalation.\nA:H - Even without successful heap grooming the loop dereferences poisoned/freed slab memory and then unlinks and frees it again, producing a guaranteed oops, double free, or slab corruption panic that takes the machine down."
