Title
sentence-transformers Arbitrary Code Execution on Local Model Load Despite trust_remote_code=False
Summary
sentence-transformers contains a security control bypass vulnerability that allows attackers to achieve arbitrary code execution by exploiting a logic flaw in the import_module_class helper within sentence_transformers/util/misc.py, where the guard condition includes an 'or os.path.exists(model_name_or_path)' clause that satisfies the trust gate whenever the supplied path exists on the local filesystem, regardless of the trust_remote_code=False argument. Attackers who can control or influence the contents of a model directory on disk can place malicious Python files such as modeling_*.py referenced via modules.json, causing the code to execute at import time when an application loads the model with SentenceTransformer(path, trust_remote_code=False), bypassing the documented security contract and achieving code execution within the loading process.

Title
Hydra: hydra.utils.instantiate with untrusted config can lead to code execution
Summary
Hydra is a framework for elegantly configuring complex applications. Prior to 1.3.4, hydra.utils.instantiate() resolves and calls Python objects selected by configuration through _resolve_target() in hydra/_internal/instantiate/_instantiate2.py, allowing attacker-controlled target values and arguments to choose dangerous callables. A consuming application, library, CLI workflow, or model loader that passes untrusted configuration, CLI overrides, or model metadata into hydra.utils.instantiate() can therefore execute arbitrary code in its own process, including reading or modifying files and credentials or terminating the process. Version 1.3.4 adds target blocking with an explicit HYDRA_INSTANTIATE_ALLOWLIST_OVERRIDE escape hatch. This issue is fixed in version 1.3.4.

Title
FrontMCP: CodeCall sandbox escape -> host RCE via live Zod schema exposure by getTool
Summary
FrontMCP is a TypeScript-first framework for the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Prior to 1.5.7, the sandboxed codecall:execute tool exposes live host Zod schema instances to the script via getTool(), and because Zod v4 defines _zod as a non-configurable, non-writable own property, the ECMAScript Proxy invariants force the security membrane to hand back the raw host object, letting a script reach _zod.constr.constructor (the host Function constructor) and execute arbitrary code in the server process. A single tools/call is sufficient to escape the sandbox and achieve remote code execution as the server user, exposing everything the process holds such as OAuth client secrets, JWT_SECRET, session keys, database credentials, and cloud instance metadata. Because the framework's DEFAULT_AUTH_OPTIONS is public mode, an unconfigured server serves this to unauthenticated callers, and on authenticated servers an indirect prompt injection in tool output or fetched content can trigger it without a human attackerThis issue is fixed in version 1.5.7.

Joomla Extension - balbooa.com - Pre-auth PHP Code Injection in Balbooa Forms < 2.4.3.2
Summary
Joomla Extension - balbooa.com - Pre-auth PHP Code Injection in Balbooa Forms < 2.4.3.2 - CWE-94 / CWE-95 | CVSS 3.1: 9.8 Critical (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H) The form's optional custom-PHP post-submission handler is executed via eval(). The [URL parameter = X] shortcode is substituted with the raw, unescaped value of a query parameter, letting an unauthenticated attacker inject arbitrary PHP that executes server-side. The CSRF token needed to reach the endpoint is itself disclosed anonymously via a separate task, so it provides no real protection. Exploitability requires the form to have a custom-PHP handler configured (a documented builder feature) referencing that shortcode, and no reCAPTCHA on the submit button.

Title
ArcadeDB before 26.7.2 Remote Code Execution via Trigger Scripts
Summary
ArcadeDB before 26.7.2 (arcadedb-engine) allows trigger scripts to look up host classes in java.lang.* (via Java.type) because ScriptTriggerExecutor adds java.lang.* to the allowed packages. An authenticated user with UPDATE_SCHEMA permission can create a JavaScript trigger that invokes java.lang.Runtime.getRuntime().exec() (or ProcessBuilder), achieving OS command execution when the trigger fires.

Title
Submariner: submariner: ipsec.conf stanza injection via remote-supplied cablename and subnets
Summary
A flaw was found in submariner. In cert-auth mode, the connection configuration is built using free-form strings from the Custom Resource Definition (CRD) without proper validation. A malicious cluster can exploit this by publishing a CableName that includes newlines and ipsec.conf directives. This allows an attacker to inject arbitrary configuration parameters or execute commands through leftupdown hooks, leading to remote code execution as root on the gateway node.

Title
Camaleon CMS 2.1.1 - 2.9.1 Authenticated RCE via select_eval Custom Field
Summary
Camaleon CMS versions 2.1.1 through 2.9.1 contains an authenticated remote code execution vulnerability that allows users with custom_fields manage permission to execute arbitrary Ruby code by supplying a malicious expression through the select_eval custom field type. Attackers can store an attacker-controlled Ruby expression in the field options command parameter, which is evaluated via instance_eval within an ERB view whenever a post edit page is rendered, achieving server-side code execution with web server process privileges.

Title
Artica Proxy 4.50 Session Fixation via fw.login.php
Summary
Artica Proxy before 4.50.000000 Service Pack 7 (fixed in hotfix 20260724-02) contains a session fixation vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to hijack administrative sessions by setting a known PHPSESSID on a victim's browser prior to authentication. Attackers can pre-set a controlled session identifier and wait for a victim to authenticate through fw.login.php, after which the attacker gains a fully authenticated administrative session on port 9000.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Strategy: Refactoring

Refactor your program so that you do not have to dynamically generate code.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • Run your code in a "jail" or similar sandbox environment that enforces strict boundaries between the process and the operating system. This may effectively restrict which code can be executed by your product.
  • Examples include the Unix chroot jail and AppArmor. In general, managed code may provide some protection.
  • This may not be a feasible solution, and it only limits the impact to the operating system; the rest of your application may still be subject to compromise.
  • Be careful to avoid CWE-243 and other weaknesses related to jails.
Mitigation MIT-5
Implementation

Strategy: Input Validation

  • Assume all input is malicious. Use an "accept known good" input validation strategy, i.e., use a list of acceptable inputs that strictly conform to specifications. Reject any input that does not strictly conform to specifications, or transform it into something that does.
  • When performing input validation, consider all potentially relevant properties, including length, type of input, the full range of acceptable values, missing or extra inputs, syntax, consistency across related fields, and conformance to business rules. As an example of business rule logic, "boat" may be syntactically valid because it only contains alphanumeric characters, but it is not valid if the input is only expected to contain colors such as "red" or "blue."
  • Do not rely exclusively on looking for malicious or malformed inputs. This is likely to miss at least one undesirable input, especially if the code's environment changes. This can give attackers enough room to bypass the intended validation. However, denylists can be useful for detecting potential attacks or determining which inputs are so malformed that they should be rejected outright.
  • To reduce the likelihood of code injection, use stringent allowlists that limit which constructs are allowed. If you are dynamically constructing code that invokes a function, then verifying that the input is alphanumeric might be insufficient. An attacker might still be able to reference a dangerous function that you did not intend to allow, such as system(), exec(), or exit().
Mitigation
Testing

Use dynamic tools and techniques that interact with the product using large test suites with many diverse inputs, such as fuzz testing (fuzzing), robustness testing, and fault injection. The product's operation may slow down, but it should not become unstable, crash, or generate incorrect results.

Mitigation MIT-32
Operation

Strategy: Compilation or Build Hardening

Run the code in an environment that performs automatic taint propagation and prevents any command execution that uses tainted variables, such as Perl's "-T" switch. This will force the program to perform validation steps that remove the taint, although you must be careful to correctly validate your inputs so that you do not accidentally mark dangerous inputs as untainted (see CWE-183 and CWE-184).

Mitigation
Implementation

For Python programs, it is frequently encouraged to use the ast.literal_eval() function instead of eval, since it is intentionally designed to avoid executing code. However, an adversary could still cause excessive memory or stack consumption via deeply nested structures [REF-1372], so the python documentation discourages use of ast.literal_eval() on untrusted data [REF-1373].

CAPEC-242: Code Injection

An adversary exploits a weakness in input validation on the target to inject new code into that which is currently executing. This differs from code inclusion in that code inclusion involves the addition or replacement of a reference to a code file, which is subsequently loaded by the target and used as part of the code of some application.

CAPEC-35: Leverage Executable Code in Non-Executable Files

An attack of this type exploits a system's trust in configuration and resource files. When the executable loads the resource (such as an image file or configuration file) the attacker has modified the file to either execute malicious code directly or manipulate the target process (e.g. application server) to execute based on the malicious configuration parameters. Since systems are increasingly interrelated mashing up resources from local and remote sources the possibility of this attack occurring is high.

CAPEC-77: Manipulating User-Controlled Variables

This attack targets user controlled variables (DEBUG=1, PHP Globals, and So Forth). An adversary can override variables leveraging user-supplied, untrusted query variables directly used on the application server without any data sanitization. In extreme cases, the adversary can change variables controlling the business logic of the application. For instance, in languages like PHP, a number of poorly set default configurations may allow the user to override variables.
