Title
Tina: Broken Access Control: arbitrary bucket-key write/delete in `next-tinacms-s3` (and sibling production media adapters)
Summary
Tina is a headless content management system. Prior to next-tinacms-s3 23.0.4, next-tinacms-dos 23.0.4, next-tinacms-azure 14.0.4, and next-tinacms-cloudinary 26.0.4, the first-party production media adapters pass attacker-controlled object keys to storage SDK upload and delete operations without enforcing the operator's configured mediaRoot. In packages/next-tinacms-s3/src/handlers.ts, createMediaHandler accepts req.query.key for a signed PutObject URL and the DELETE path uses req.query.media as the DeleteObjectCommand key. The same missing key-boundary check exists in packages/next-tinacms-dos/src/handlers.ts, packages/next-tinacms-azure/src/handlers.ts, and packages/next-tinacms-cloudinary/src/handlers.ts. An authenticated CMS editor can therefore create or delete objects anywhere the deployment's storage credential can reach, including other tenants' or non-media objects. These issues are fixed in next-tinacms-s3 23.0.4, next-tinacms-dos 23.0.4, next-tinacms-azure 14.0.4, and next-tinacms-cloudinary 26.0.4.

Title
SiYuan: Publish-mode Reader can exfiltrate private saved-search Criteria via /api/storage/getCriteria (missing publish-access filter)
Summary
SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.7.1, the /api/storage/getCriteria endpoint returns saved search criteria from data/storage/criteria.json without the publish-access filtering used by sibling storage endpoints, allowing a publish-mode Reader to read private document paths, notebook, document, and block IDs, and search and replace keywords for unpublished documents. This issue is fixed in versions 3.7.1.

Title
Discourse: Review queue exposes flag-related private message excerpts to category group moderators
Summary
Discourse is an open-source discussion platform. Prior to 2026.1.6, 2026.5.2, 2026.6.1, and 2026.7.1, on sites with category group moderation enabled, the review queue could include an excerpt (and permalink) of the private message attached to a flag, even when the reviewing category moderator was not a participant in that message. These notify_moderators flag messages are addressed only to moderators and, for core flags, to a category's moderation groups as they existed when the flag was raised, so a category group moderator could read flag-discussion content they were not authorized to see. This affects official plugins that create such messages and core flags raised before a moderator's group was granted moderation of the category. Only the confidentiality of a limited excerpt of these flag-related private messages is affected; no content can be modified or deleted. Prior to 2026.1.6, 2026.5.2, 2026.6.1, and 2026.7.1, on sites with category group moderation enabled, the review queue could include an excerpt (and permalink) of the private message attached to a flag, even when the reviewing category moderator was not a participant in that message. These notify_moderators flag messages are addressed only to moderators and, for core flags, to a category\u0027s moderation groups as they existed when the flag was raised, so a category group moderator could read flag-discussion content they were not authorized to see. This affects official plugins that create such messages and core flags raised before a moderator\u0027s group was granted moderation of the category. Only the confidentiality of a limited excerpt of these flag-related private messages is affected; no content can be modified or deleted. Title
Gumroad < 2026.07.06.2 - Insecure Direct Object Reference in PurchasesController
Summary
Gumroad before 2026.07.06.2 contains a broken access control vulnerability in the PurchasesController that allows authenticated sellers to manipulate purchase access for other sellers' products by sending PUT requests to the revoke_access and undo_revoke_access actions without seller ownership validation. Attackers can modify the is_access_revoked status on arbitrary purchases to unauthorized revoke or restore buyer access to products they do not own.

Title
Open WebUI: Cross-channel message overwrite via chat completion API (single-model and multimodel message_ids)
Summary
Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. From 0.9.5 before 0.10.0, any authenticated user can overwrite the content of a message in a channel they do not belong to (including private and DM channels) by sending a chat completion request with a channel:-prefixed chat_id and a target message_id. The channel: path routes pipeline output through _make_channel_emitter, which writes to the Messages table using the caller-supplied message_id without binding it to the channel. Title
Ghostfolio - Unauthorized Portfolio Holding Tag Modification via Missing Permission Check
Summary
Ghostfolio's PUT /api/v1/portfolio/holding/:dataSource/:symbol/tags endpoint fails to verify Access.permissions field when processing the Impersonation-Id header, allowing read-only access grantees to modify portfolio holding tags. Attackers with valid read-only share tokens can assign or remove tags on victim holdings, corrupting portfolio categorization and reports.

Title
Cap - Missing Access Control in Video AI Metadata Endpoint
Summary
Cap's GET /api/video/ai endpoint fails to validate user ownership or membership before returning private video AI metadata including titles, summaries, and chapters. Authenticated attackers can supply arbitrary video IDs to read sensitive AI-generated content and trigger unauthorized AI generation that consumes the video owner's credits without consent.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • Divide the product into anonymous, normal, privileged, and administrative areas. Reduce the attack surface by carefully mapping roles with data and functionality. Use role-based access control (RBAC) [REF-229] to enforce the roles at the appropriate boundaries.
  • Note that this approach may not protect against horizontal authorization, i.e., it will not protect a user from attacking others with the same role.
Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Ensure that access control checks are performed related to the business logic. These checks may be different than the access control checks that are applied to more generic resources such as files, connections, processes, memory, and database records. For example, a database may restrict access for medical records to a specific database user, but each record might only be intended to be accessible to the patient and the patient's doctor [REF-7].

Mitigation MIT-4.4
Architecture and Design

Strategy: Libraries or Frameworks

  • Use a vetted library or framework that does not allow this weakness to occur or provides constructs that make this weakness easier to avoid.
  • For example, consider using authorization frameworks such as the JAAS Authorization Framework [REF-233] and the OWASP ESAPI Access Control feature [REF-45].
Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • For web applications, make sure that the access control mechanism is enforced correctly at the server side on every page. Users should not be able to access any unauthorized functionality or information by simply requesting direct access to that page.
  • One way to do this is to ensure that all pages containing sensitive information are not cached, and that all such pages restrict access to requests that are accompanied by an active and authenticated session token associated with a user who has the required permissions to access that page.
Mitigation
System Configuration Installation

Use the access control capabilities of your operating system and server environment and define your access control lists accordingly. Use a "default deny" policy when defining these ACLs.

CAPEC-665: Exploitation of Thunderbolt Protection Flaws

An adversary leverages a firmware weakness within the Thunderbolt protocol, on a computing device to manipulate Thunderbolt controller firmware in order to exploit vulnerabilities in the implementation of authorization and verification schemes within Thunderbolt protection mechanisms. Upon gaining physical access to a target device, the adversary conducts high-level firmware manipulation of the victim Thunderbolt controller SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) flash, through the use of a SPI Programing device and an external Thunderbolt device, typically as the target device is booting up. If successful, this allows the adversary to modify memory, subvert authentication mechanisms, spoof identities and content, and extract data and memory from the target device. Currently 7 major vulnerabilities exist within Thunderbolt protocol with 9 attack vectors as noted in the Execution Flow.
