Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-07-03 00:31 – Updated: 2026-07-03 00:31A null pointer dereference vulnerability in WatchGuard Fireware OS may allow a remote unauthenticated attacker to create a denial-of-service (DoS) condition by sending specially crafted IKEv2 messages. This vulnerability affects both the Mobile User VPN with IKEv2 and the Branch Office VPN using IKEv2 when configured with a dynamic gateway peer.
This vulnerability affects Fireware OS 11.10.2 up to and including 11.12.4_Update1, 12.0 up to and including 12.12 and 2025.1 up to and including 2026.2

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-02-11 15:30 – Updated: 2026-02-27 15:34A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability has been reported to affect several QNAP operating system versions. If a remote attacker gains an administrator account, they can then exploit the vulnerability to launch a denial-of-service (DoS) attack.
We have already fixed the vulnerability in the following versions: QTS 5.2.8.3332 build 20251128 and later QuTS hero h5.2.8.3321 build 20251117 and later

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-09-18 09:30 – Updated: 2025-11-04 00:31In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
uio_hv_generic: Fix kernel NULL pointer dereference in hv_uio_rescind
For primary VM Bus channels, primary_channel pointer is always NULL. This pointer is valid only for the secondary channels. Also, rescind callback is meant for primary channels only.
Fix NULL pointer dereference by retrieving the device_obj from the parent for the primary channel.

GHSA-W4C2-47FV-3G9C
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-06-19 15:30 – Updated: 2025-01-31 18:31In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: brcmfmac: pcie: handle randbuf allocation failure
The kzalloc() in brcmf_pcie_download_fw_nvram() will return null if the physical memory has run out. As a result, if we use get_random_bytes() to generate random bytes in the randbuf, the null pointer dereference bug will happen.
In order to prevent allocation failure, this patch adds a separate function using buffer on kernel stack to generate random bytes in the randbuf, which could prevent the kernel stack from overflow.

GHSA-W4HX-FRHG-79JG
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-05-02 18:31 – Updated: 2025-11-10 18:30In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
i40e: Fix kernel crash during reboot when adapter is in recovery mode
If the driver detects during probe that firmware is in recovery mode then i40e_init_recovery_mode() is called and the rest of probe function is skipped including pci_set_drvdata(). Subsequent i40e_shutdown() called during shutdown/reboot dereferences NULL pointer as pci_get_drvdata() returns NULL.
To fix call pci_set_drvdata() also during entering to recovery mode.
Reproducer: 1) Lets have i40e NIC with firmware in recovery mode 2) Run reboot

GHSA-W4QG-RH8M-6C8Q
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-03-26 12:30 – Updated: 2026-04-24 15:32In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: mac80211: fix NULL deref in mesh_matches_local()
mesh_matches_local() unconditionally dereferences ie->mesh_config to compare mesh configuration parameters. When called from mesh_rx_csa_frame(), the parsed action-frame elements may not contain a Mesh Configuration IE, leaving ie->mesh_config NULL and triggering a kernel NULL pointer dereference.
The other two callers are already safe: - ieee80211_mesh_rx_bcn_presp() checks !elems->mesh_config before calling mesh_matches_local() - mesh_plink_get_event() is only reached through mesh_process_plink_frame(), which checks !elems->mesh_config, too
mesh_rx_csa_frame() is the only caller that passes raw parsed elements to mesh_matches_local() without guarding mesh_config. An adjacent attacker can exploit this by sending a crafted CSA action frame that includes a valid Mesh ID IE but omits the Mesh Configuration IE, crashing the kernel.
The captured crash log:
Oops: general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address ... KASAN: null-ptr-deref in range [0x0000000000000000-0x0000000000000007] Workqueue: events_unbound cfg80211_wiphy_work [...] Call Trace: ? __pfx_mesh_matches_local (net/mac80211/mesh.c:65) ieee80211_mesh_rx_queued_mgmt (net/mac80211/mesh.c:1686) [...] ieee80211_iface_work (net/mac80211/iface.c:1754 net/mac80211/iface.c:1802) [...] cfg80211_wiphy_work (net/wireless/core.c:426) process_one_work (net/kernel/workqueue.c:3280) ? assign_work (net/kernel/workqueue.c:1219) worker_thread (net/kernel/workqueue.c:3352) ? __pfx_worker_thread (net/kernel/workqueue.c:3385) kthread (net/kernel/kthread.c:436) [...] ret_from_fork_asm (net/arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S:255)
This patch adds a NULL check for ie->mesh_config at the top of mesh_matches_local() to return false early when the Mesh Configuration IE is absent.

GHSA-W4R8-Q3V5-4X28
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-02-23 15:30 – Updated: 2026-05-12 12:31In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
block: add check that partition length needs to be aligned with block size
Before calling add partition or resize partition, there is no check on whether the length is aligned with the logical block size. If the logical block size of the disk is larger than 512 bytes, then the partition size maybe not the multiple of the logical block size, and when the last sector is read, bio_truncate() will adjust the bio size, resulting in an IO error if the size of the read command is smaller than the logical block size.If integrity data is supported, this will also result in a null pointer dereference when calling bio_integrity_free.

Mitigation MIT-56
For any pointers that could have been modified or provided from a function that can return NULL, check the pointer for NULL before use. When working with a multithreaded or otherwise asynchronous environment, ensure that proper locking APIs are used to lock before the check, and unlock when it has finished [REF-1484].
Mitigation
Select a programming language that is not susceptible to these issues.
Mitigation
Check the results of all functions that return a value and verify that the value is non-null before acting upon it.
Mitigation
Identify all variables and data stores that receive information from external sources, and apply input validation to make sure that they are only initialized to expected values.
Mitigation
Explicitly initialize all variables and other data stores, either during declaration or just before the first usage.
No CAPEC attack patterns related to this CWE.
