Title
elFinder: SSRF protection bypass via DNS rebinding in the `fsock_get_contents()` fallback
Summary
elFinder is an open-source file manager for web, written in JavaScript using jQuery UI. Prior to 2.1.70, elFinder URL uploads in php/elFinder.class.php can bypass server-side request forgery protections when PHP cURL is unavailable because validate_address() validates $info['ip'], but get_remote_contents() selects fsock_get_contents(), which connects to $arr['host'] and performs a second DNS resolution. An attacker able to submit a URL upload can use DNS rebinding to have the first resolution return a public address and the connection resolution return a loopback or private address, causing the internal HTTP response body to be stored as an uploaded file and made readable through elFinder. After a successful fetch, get_headers($url, true) separately requests the original hostname without reusing the validated and pinned connection, creating an additional blind server-side request forgery path even when curl_get_contents() is selected. This issue is fixed in version 2.1.70.

Title
AVideo SSRF Guard Bypass via IPv6 Transition Addresses
Summary
AVideo before 24.0 contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability in the isSSRFSafeURL function that fails to extract embedded IPv4 addresses from NAT64, 6to4, and Teredo IPv6 transition address formats. Unauthenticated attackers can bypass SSRF protections via the LiveLinks proxy endpoint to reach internal services and cloud metadata endpoints by encoding private IPv4 targets in transition address formats.

Title
Apify Actors MCP Server before 0.9.12 Server-Side Request Forgery via get-html-skeleton
Summary
The get-html-skeleton tool fetched a URL the caller supplied after checking only its syntax. The handler in src/tools/common/get_html_skeleton.ts validated the url argument with isValidHttpUrl from src/utils/generic.ts, which confirmed the string began with an http or https scheme and parsed as a URL and inspected neither the host name nor the address it resolves to. Loopback, link-local and private ranges therefore passed, including the address cloud providers use to serve instance metadata. The unchecked URL was handed to the web-browser actor and the fetched document was returned in the tool response, so any caller of the MCP server could make it request an endpoint reachable only from the host and read the result, including instance credentials. Version 0.9.12 removes the tool.

mcp-use Inspector Proxy Server-Side Request Forgery via Caller-Supplied Target URL
Summary
The proxy middleware in mcp-use's inspector forwards requests to a destination the caller names. mountMcpProxy in libraries/typescript/packages/inspector/src/server/proxy/mcp-proxy.ts read the target from the X-Target-URL header or the __mcp_target parameter and proxied to it without inspecting the host, so loopback, link-local and private addresses were all accepted, as were names that resolve to them, and the validation was not reapplied to a redirect the destination returned. A caller could therefore make the server issue requests to addresses reachable only from the host it runs on and read the responses. The current code calls isSafeProxyTarget, which checks the resolved address against private, loopback and link-local ranges before proxying and bounds the number of redirects followed.

Title
OneUptime before 12.0.7 Server-Side Request Forgery via IPv4-Mapped IPv6 Webhook URL
Summary
OneUptime's webhook target check rejects private and loopback addresses given in IPv4 form and a small set of IPv6 forms, but has no case for the IPv4-mapped IPv6 range. The webhook delivery path calls SSRFProtection.validateWebhookTargetIsSafe, and the host-literal screening inside Common/Server/Utils/SSRFProtection.ts, performed by isBlockedHostnameLiteral, rejects private and loopback IPv4 ranges and tests an IPv6 value against the unspecified address, the loopback, the link-local prefix and the unique-local prefixes. A value such as [::ffff:127.0.0.1] matches none of them. The value is also recognised as an address literal rather than a name, so the path that re-checks addresses obtained from resolution is not taken. The HTTP client treats the mapped form as the embedded IPv4 address and connects to it, so an authenticated project member who can configure a webhook can direct the server at loopback services, private network ranges and link-local metadata endpoints, and the response is recorded where the webhook result can be read. Version 12.0.7 adds handling for the mapped range.

Title
mcp-fetch through 1.6.3 Server-Side Request Forgery via Unstripped IPv6 Literal Brackets
Summary
mcp-fetch checks a fetch target against its SSRF guard without removing the brackets that surround an IPv6 literal. isSafeUrl reads the hostname from the parsed URL, which for a literal such as http://[::1]/ yields the bracketed string, and then tests it with net.isIP. That call returns zero for a bracketed value, so the branch holding the private-address checks is skipped entirely. The guard falls back to resolving the hostname, the bracketed string is not a resolvable name, no addresses are returned, and the target is reported safe. The HTTP client then strips the brackets and connects. Because the address may be given in IPv4-mapped form, the same path reaches any IPv4 target the loopback and private checks were meant to exclude, including link-local metadata endpoints. isPrivateIPv6 also has no case for the ::ffff: prefix, so the mapped form would still pass even if the brackets were removed. The fetch target is supplied as a tool argument, so an attacker who can influence what the model requests can read internal responses back into the model context.

Title
Dradis Community Edition 5.1.0 through 5.2.0 Server-Side Request Forgery via Unrestricted AI Provider Address
Summary
In Dradis Community Edition, the ProvidersController and AgentsController gate their admin_required before_action on `defined?(Dradis::Pro)`, a constant that is never defined in CE, so the authorization check is never applied. As a result, any authenticated (non-admin) user can create an AI provider pointing to an arbitrary HTTP/HTTPS address (including internal/link-local hosts such as http://169.254.169.254) and reassign the built-in Roslin agent to use it. When an AI interaction is triggered, the server issues a request to the attacker-supplied URL (server-side request forgery). For non-2xx responses, the target's response body is reflected verbatim to the attacker's browser via ActionCable/Turbo Stream error messages, making the SSRF readable.

CAPEC-664: Server Side Request Forgery

An adversary exploits improper input validation by submitting maliciously crafted input to a target application running on a server, with the goal of forcing the server to make a request either to itself, to web services running in the server’s internal network, or to external third parties. If successful, the adversary’s request will be made with the server’s privilege level, bypassing its authentication controls. This ultimately allows the adversary to access sensitive data, execute commands on the server’s network, and make external requests with the stolen identity of the server. Server Side Request Forgery attacks differ from Cross Site Request Forgery attacks in that they target the server itself, whereas CSRF attacks exploit an insecure user authentication mechanism to perform unauthorized actions on the user's behalf.
