CVE-2026-15991 (GCVE-0-2026-15991)

Title
File Manager 6.0 - 6.9 - Missing Authorization to Authenticated (Subscriber+) Arbitrary File Read and Deletion via 'cmd' Query Parameter
Summary
The File Manager plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient file path validation in the connector function in all versions from 6.0 - 6.9. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to read and delete arbitrary files on the server, which can lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php). The bypass is triggered by passing cmd=rm or cmf=file in the URL query string of a POST request: elFinder's bind registration reads the command exclusively from $_POST and therefore never registers the rm.pre permission handler, while the dispatcher reads from the merged $_GET+$_POST superglobal and executes the rm or file command unchecked against a volume that defaults to ABSPATH.

Title
Search Atlas SEO <= 2.6.23 - Missing Authorization to Authenticated (Subscriber+) Site-Wide Option Modification via 'metasync_post_types' Parameter
Summary
The Metasync plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized modification of data due to a missing capability check on the save_instant_indexing_settings() function in versions up to, and including, 2.6.23. This function is registered on the admin_init hook and only checks for the presence of $_POST['submit'] before writing attacker-supplied $_POST['metasync_post_types'] into the site-wide 'metasync_options_instant_indexing' option via update_option(); no current_user_can()/current_user_has_plugin_access() check and no nonce verification are performed. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to modify the site's Google Instant Indexing post-type configuration, controlling which post types are auto-submitted to Google's Instant Indexing service.

Title
Search Atlas SEO <= 2.6.23 - Missing Authorization to Authenticated (Subscriber+) Whitelabel Password Modification via handle_whitelabel_password_early Function
Summary
The Search Atlas SEO – Premier SEO Plugin for One-Click WP Publishing & Integrated AI Optimization plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 2.6.23. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to overwrite the whitelabel settings password to an attacker-controlled value, enabling them to unlock whitelabel-protected admin settings tabs including whitelabel, general, and advanced configuration.

Title
GutenKit <= 2.4.12 - Missing Authorization to Unauthenticated Sensitive Information Exposure via Mailchimp REST Endpoints
Summary
The GutenKit Blocks plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized access of data due to a missing capability check on the /wp-json/gutenkit/v1/mailchimp/get/lists and /wp-json/gutenkit/v1/mailchimp/get/interests REST API endpoints in versions up to, and including, 2.4.12. Both endpoints are registered with permission_callback => '__return_true', and their callbacks read the site's stored Mailchimp API key from the gutenkit_settings_list option and proxy Mailchimp audience/list, merge-field, interest-category, interest-name, and subscriber-count metadata back to the caller with no login, nonce, or capability check. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to retrieve private Mailchimp audience configuration information from any site that has configured the GutenKit Mailchimp integration.

Title
Builderall for WordPress <= 3.0.2 - Missing Authorization to Authenticated (Subscriber+) Arbitrary Post Meta Modification via 'ba_cheetah_data[post_id]' Parameter
Summary
The Builderall Cheetah For Wp plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized modification of data due to a missing capability check on the disable() function in versions up to, and including, 3.0.2. The wp_ajax_ba_cheetah_disable AJAX handler is registered without any capability or nonce verification, and the target post_id is sourced directly from user-controlled $_POST['ba_cheetah_data']['post_id']. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to disable the page builder layout on arbitrary posts by setting the _ba_cheetah_enabled post meta to false, including on posts owned by other users.

Title
Missing Authorization vulnerability was identified in GitHub Enterprise Server that allowed reading private repository metadata via delegated bypass rule suites
Summary
A missing authorization vulnerability was identified in GitHub Enterprise Server that allowed an authenticated user with write access to any repository to read metadata from private repositories they did not have access to, including private repository owners and names, branch names, commit SHAs, commit messages, and the pushing actor. The delegated bypass endpoint resolved a rule suite directly from an attacker-supplied, encoded identifier without verifying that the requesting user could read the rule suite's repository, and because these identifiers are sequential an attacker could enumerate them across the instance. This vulnerability affected all versions of GitHub Enterprise Server prior to 3.22 and was fixed in versions 3.17.18, 3.18.12, 3.19.9, 3.20.5, and 3.21.3. This vulnerability was reported via the GitHub Bug Bounty program.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • Divide the product into anonymous, normal, privileged, and administrative areas. Reduce the attack surface by carefully mapping roles with data and functionality. Use role-based access control (RBAC) [REF-229] to enforce the roles at the appropriate boundaries.
  • Note that this approach may not protect against horizontal authorization, i.e., it will not protect a user from attacking others with the same role.
Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Ensure that access control checks are performed related to the business logic. These checks may be different than the access control checks that are applied to more generic resources such as files, connections, processes, memory, and database records. For example, a database may restrict access for medical records to a specific database user, but each record might only be intended to be accessible to the patient and the patient's doctor [REF-7].

Mitigation MIT-4.4
Architecture and Design

Strategy: Libraries or Frameworks

  • Use a vetted library or framework that does not allow this weakness to occur or provides constructs that make this weakness easier to avoid.
  • For example, consider using authorization frameworks such as the JAAS Authorization Framework [REF-233] and the OWASP ESAPI Access Control feature [REF-45].
Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • For web applications, make sure that the access control mechanism is enforced correctly at the server side on every page. Users should not be able to access any unauthorized functionality or information by simply requesting direct access to that page.
  • One way to do this is to ensure that all pages containing sensitive information are not cached, and that all such pages restrict access to requests that are accompanied by an active and authenticated session token associated with a user who has the required permissions to access that page.
Mitigation
System Configuration Installation

Use the access control capabilities of your operating system and server environment and define your access control lists accordingly. Use a "default deny" policy when defining these ACLs.

CAPEC-665: Exploitation of Thunderbolt Protection Flaws

An adversary leverages a firmware weakness within the Thunderbolt protocol, on a computing device to manipulate Thunderbolt controller firmware in order to exploit vulnerabilities in the implementation of authorization and verification schemes within Thunderbolt protection mechanisms. Upon gaining physical access to a target device, the adversary conducts high-level firmware manipulation of the victim Thunderbolt controller SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) flash, through the use of a SPI Programing device and an external Thunderbolt device, typically as the target device is booting up. If successful, this allows the adversary to modify memory, subvert authentication mechanisms, spoof identities and content, and extract data and memory from the target device. Currently 7 major vulnerabilities exist within Thunderbolt protocol with 9 attack vectors as noted in the Execution Flow.
