Vulnerability from github – Published: 2023-03-24 21:58 – Updated: 2023-03-27 21:58Impact
When ctx->step_containter() is a null ptr, the Lookup function will be executed with a null pointer.
import tensorflow as tf
tf.raw_ops.TensorArrayConcatV2(handle=['a', 'b'], flow_in = 0.1, dtype=tf.int32, element_shape_except0=1)
Patches
We have patched the issue in GitHub commit 239139d2ae6a81ae9ba499ad78b56d9b2931538a.
The fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.12.0. We will also cherrypick this commit on TensorFlow 2.11.1

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-09-13 06:30 – Updated: 2025-11-04 00:31In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
gtp: fix a potential NULL pointer dereference
When sockfd_lookup() fails, gtp_encap_enable_socket() returns a NULL pointer, but its callers only check for error pointers thus miss the NULL pointer case.
Fix it by returning an error pointer with the error code carried from sockfd_lookup().
(I found this bug during code inspection.)

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-10-21 21:30 – Updated: 2024-10-25 15:31In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mac802154: fix missing INIT_LIST_HEAD in ieee802154_if_add()
Kernel fault injection test reports null-ptr-deref as follows:
BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000008 RIP: 0010:cfg802154_netdev_notifier_call+0x120/0x310 include/linux/list.h:114 Call Trace: raw_notifier_call_chain+0x6d/0xa0 kernel/notifier.c:87 call_netdevice_notifiers_info+0x6e/0xc0 net/core/dev.c:1944 unregister_netdevice_many_notify+0x60d/0xcb0 net/core/dev.c:1982 unregister_netdevice_queue+0x154/0x1a0 net/core/dev.c:10879 register_netdevice+0x9a8/0xb90 net/core/dev.c:10083 ieee802154_if_add+0x6ed/0x7e0 net/mac802154/iface.c:659 ieee802154_register_hw+0x29c/0x330 net/mac802154/main.c:229 mcr20a_probe+0xaaa/0xcb1 drivers/net/ieee802154/mcr20a.c:1316
ieee802154_if_add() allocates wpan_dev as netdev's private data, but not init the list in struct wpan_dev. cfg802154_netdev_notifier_call() manage the list when device register/unregister, and may lead to null-ptr-deref.
Use INIT_LIST_HEAD() on it to initialize it correctly.

GHSA-64X7-M7RH-9M83
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-06-17 21:32 – Updated: 2025-06-20 14:12Withdrawn Advisory
This advisory has been withdrawn because a website owner has to set CSS color values. The proof of concept doesn't demonstrate how a malicious user who is not the website owner can cause an application crash. This link has been maintained to preserve external references.
Original Description
A null pointer dereference vulnerability was discovered in microlight.js (version 0.0.7), a lightweight syntax highlighting library. When processing elements with non-standard CSS color values, the library fails to validate the result of a regular expression match before accessing its properties, leading to an uncaught TypeError and potential application crash.

Mitigation MIT-56
For any pointers that could have been modified or provided from a function that can return NULL, check the pointer for NULL before use. When working with a multithreaded or otherwise asynchronous environment, ensure that proper locking APIs are used to lock before the check, and unlock when it has finished [REF-1484].
Mitigation
Select a programming language that is not susceptible to these issues.
Mitigation
Check the results of all functions that return a value and verify that the value is non-null before acting upon it.
Mitigation
Identify all variables and data stores that receive information from external sources, and apply input validation to make sure that they are only initialized to expected values.
Mitigation
Explicitly initialize all variables and other data stores, either during declaration or just before the first usage.
No CAPEC attack patterns related to this CWE.
