Details

SOPlanning is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in user management tab. Users with user_manage_team role are allowed to modify permissions of users. However, they are able to assign administrative permissions to any user including themselves. This allow a malicious authenticated attacker with this role to escalate to admin privileges. This issue affects both Bulk Update functionality and regular edition of user's right and privileges.

This issue was fixed in version 1.55.

Details

Incorrect Authorization (CWE-863) in Kibana can lead to integrity compromise of Machine Learning audit and notification records via Accessing Functionality Not Properly Constrained by ACLs (CAPEC-1).

A vulnerability exists in Kibana's Machine Learning functionality where a Machine Learning management endpoint performs an insufficient authorization check. The endpoint validates only a coarse privilege level but does not verify that the requesting user has access to the specific Machine Learning job or notification resources provided in the request. As a result, a low-privileged user with Machine Learning access in any Kibana space can manipulate Machine Learning audit and notification records for arbitrary jobs—including jobs in other spaces or belonging to other users—by leveraging Kibana's internally elevated credentials to write to restricted Machine Learning system indices that the user cannot access directly.

Parse Server: GraphQL `__type` introspection bypass via inline fragments when public introspection is disabled

Impact

When graphQLPublicIntrospection is disabled, __type queries nested inside inline fragments (e.g. ... on Query { __type(name:"User") { name } }) bypass the introspection control, allowing unauthenticated users to perform type reconnaissance. __schema introspection is not affected.

Patches

The check was changed from a flat iteration over root-level selections to a recursive walk of all selection sets, detecting __type inside inline fragments at any depth.

Workarounds

Require master key authentication at the network layer (e.g. reverse proxy) for the GraphQL endpoint.

Improper Authorization and Origin Validation Error in OneFuzz
Details

Impact

Starting with OneFuzz 2.12.0 or greater, an incomplete authorization check allows an authenticated user from any Azure Active Directory tenant to make authorized API calls to a vulnerable OneFuzz instance.

To be vulnerable, a OneFuzz deployment must be: * Version 2.12.0 or greater * Deployed with the non-default --multi_tenant_domain option

This can result in read/write access to private data such as: * Software vulnerability and crash information * Security testing tools * Proprietary code and symbols

Via authorized API calls, this also enables tampering with existing data and unauthorized code execution on Azure compute resources.

Patches

This issue is resolved starting in release 2.31.0, via the addition of application-level check of the bearer token's issuer against an administrator-configured allowlist.

Workarounds

Users can restrict access to the tenant of a deployed OneFuzz instance < 2.31.0 by redeploying in the default configuration, which omits the --multi_tenant_domain option.

Summary
n8n: Member-Level Users Can Execute Other Users' MCP Server Trigger Workflows via Missing OAuth Authorization Check
Details

Impact

The OAuth 2.1 consent and token-issuance flow introduced in n8n 2.27.0 does not verify that the authenticated user has access to the workflow referenced as the OAuth resource. A member-level user can register an OAuth client, self-approve consent for another user's n8n OAuth2-protected MCP Server Trigger workflow, and obtain a valid token for it.

The workflow runs in the owner's project context with the owner's stored credentials. The attacker sets the tool inputs and reads the outputs, which may include data from the owner's connected integrations, breaking user and project isolation. The resulting executions appear under the owner's account and are not visible to the attacker.

This issue only affects instances running n8n 2.27.0 or later where at least one active workflow uses an MCP Server Trigger node configured with n8n OAuth2 authentication.

Patches

The issue has been fixed in n8n versions 2.29.8 and 2.30.1. Users should upgrade to one of these versions or later to remediate the vulnerability.

Workarounds

A member-level user can register an OAuth client, self-approve consent for another user\u0027s `n8n OAuth2`-protected MCP Server Trigger workflow, and obtain a valid token for it.\n\nThe workflow runs in the owner\u0027s project context with the owner\u0027s stored credentials.   • Divide the product into anonymous, normal, privileged, and administrative areas. Reduce the attack surface by carefully mapping roles with data and functionality. Use role-based access control (RBAC) [REF-229] to enforce the roles at the appropriate boundaries.
  • Note that this approach may not protect against horizontal authorization, i.e., it will not protect a user from attacking others with the same role.

  • Use a vetted library or framework that does not allow this weakness to occur or provides constructs that make this weakness easier to avoid.
  • For example, consider using authorization frameworks such as the JAAS Authorization Framework [REF-233] and the OWASP ESAPI Access Control feature [REF-45].

  • For web applications, make sure that the access control mechanism is enforced correctly at the server side on every page. Users should not be able to access any unauthorized functionality or information by simply requesting direct access to that page.
  • One way to do this is to ensure that all pages containing sensitive information are not cached, and that all such pages restrict access to requests that are accompanied by an active and authenticated session token associated with a user who has the required permissions to access that page.
