QTS, QuTS hero
Summary
An integer overflow or wraparound vulnerability has been reported to affect several QNAP operating system versions. If a remote attacker gains an administrator account, they can then exploit the vulnerability to compromise the security of the system.
We have already fixed the vulnerability in the following versions:
QTS 5.2.9.3410 build 20260214 and later
QuTS hero h5.2.9.3410 build 20260214 and later
QuTS hero h5.3.4.3500 build 20260520 and later

Title
OpenSC: Stack-buffer-overflow WRITE in card-oberthur
Summary
OpenSC is an open source smart card tools and middleware. Prior to version 0.27.0, an attacker with physical access to the computer at the time user or administrator uses a token can cause a stack-buffer-overflow WRITE in card-oberthur. The attack requires crafted USB device or smart card that would present the system with specially crafted responses to the APDUs. This issue has been patched in version 0.27.0.

Suricata is vulnerable to a stack overflow from unbounded stack allocation in LuaPushStringBuffer
Summary
Suricata is a network IDS, IPS and NSM engine developed by the OISF (Open Information Security Foundation) and the Suricata community. Prior to versions 7.0.13 and 8.0.2, working with large buffers in Lua scripts can lead to a stack overflow. Users of Lua rules and output scripts may be affected when working with large buffers. This includes a rule passing a large buffer to a Lua script. This issue has been patched in versions 7.0.13 and 8.0.2. A workaround for this issue involves disabling Lua rules and output scripts, or making sure limits, such as stream.depth.reassembly and HTTP response body limits (response-body-limit), are set to less than half the stack size.

Strategy: Environment Hardening
- Use automatic buffer overflow detection mechanisms that are offered by certain compilers or compiler extensions. Examples include: the Microsoft Visual Studio /GS flag, Fedora/Red Hat FORTIFY_SOURCE GCC flag, StackGuard, and ProPolice, which provide various mechanisms including canary-based detection and range/index checking.

Strategy: Environment Hardening
- Run or compile the software using features or extensions that randomly arrange the positions of a program's executable and libraries in memory. Because this makes the addresses unpredictable, it can prevent an attacker from reliably jumping to exploitable code.
- Examples include Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR) [REF-58] [REF-60] and Position-Independent Executables (PIE) [REF-64]. Imported modules may be similarly realigned if their default memory addresses conflict with other modules, in a process known as "rebasing" (for Windows) and "prelinking" (for Linux) [REF-1332] using randomly generated addresses. ASLR for libraries cannot be used in conjunction with prelink since it would require relocating the libraries at run-time, defeating the whole purpose of prelinking.
