From 10.6.1 until 10.6.28, 10.11.19, 11.4.13, 11.8.9, 12.3.3, and 13.0.2, the mariadb.service unit used /run/mysqld/wsrep-new-cluster during the next service restart. A database user with FILE privilege and a secure-file-priv configuration permitting writes to /run/mysqld could create that file and inject attacker-controlled environment values into the restarted service. This issue is fixed in versions 10.6.28, 10.11.19, 11.4.13, 11.8.9, 12.3.3, and 13.0.2.\nhttps://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-107818https://github.com/MariaDB/server/security/advisories/GHSA-mhvc-vqcq-7vq5https://github.com/MariaDB/server/commit/e3d62d4e78fd4941cef3f5053e6a50d0b32d740ehttps://github.com/MariaDB/server/releases/tag/mariadb-10.11.19https://github.com/MariaDB/server/releases/tag/mariadb-10.6.28https://github.com/MariaDB/server/releases/tag/mariadb-11.4.13https://github.com/MariaDB/server/releases/tag/mariadb-11.8.9https://github.com/MariaDB/server/releases/tag/mariadb-12.3.3https://github.com/MariaDB/server/releases/tag/mariadb-13.0.2https://jira.mariadb.org/browse/MDEV-40629#mariadb #MariaDB #server#CVE_2026_107818#bot", "creation_timestamp": "2026-10-09T17:36:09.375219Z"}, {"uuid": "e2d7e5b8-cf06-4f24-b4fa-9ee62293e35d", "vulnerability_lookup_origin": "1a89b78e-f703-45f3-bb86-59eb712668bd", "author": "9f56dd64-161d-43a6-b9c3-555944290a09", "vulnerability": "CVE-2026-107818", "type": "seen", "source": "https://bsky.app/profile/thehackerwire.bsky.social/post/3mxhn4sl5x62e", "content": "\ud83d\udfe0 CVE-2026-107818 - High (8.4)\n\nMariaDB server is a community developed fork of MySQL server.
