<title>CVE-2020-10135 — Bluetooth devices supporting BR/EDR v5.2 and earlier are vulnerable to impersonation attacks</title>
    <updated>2026-09-29T03:50:38.857725+00:00</updated>
    <content type="xhtml">
      <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p><strong>Affected:</strong> Bluetooth BR/EDR</p>
<p>Legacy pairing and secure-connections pairing authentication in Bluetooth BR/EDR Core Specification v5.2 and earlier may allow an unauthenticated user to complete authentication without pairing credentials via adjacent access. An unauthenticated, adjacent attacker could impersonate a Bluetooth BR/EDR master or slave to pair with a previously paired remote device to successfully complete the authentication procedure without knowing the link key.</p></div>

    <title>USN-4657-1 — linux, linux-aws, linux-azure, linux-kvm, linux-lts-trusty, linux-raspi2, linux-snapdragon vulnerabilities</title>

      <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p><strong>Affected:</strong> Ubuntu:Pro:14.04:LTS: linux-aws, Ubuntu:Pro:14.04:LTS: linux-lts-xenial, Ubuntu:16.04:LTS: linux, Ubuntu:16.04:LTS: linux-aws, Ubuntu:16.04:LTS: linux-kvm, Ubuntu:16.04:LTS: linux-raspi2, Ubuntu:16.04:LTS: linux-snapdragon</p>
<p>Elena Petrova discovered that the pin controller device tree implementation
in the Linux kernel did not properly handle string references. A local
attacker could use this to expose sensitive information (kernel memory).
(CVE-2020-0427)</p>
<p>Daniele Antonioli, Nils Ole Tippenhauer, and Kasper Rasmussen discovered
that legacy pairing and secure-connections pairing authentication in the
Bluetooth protocol could allow an unauthenticated user to complete
authentication without pairing credentials via adjacent access. A
physically proximate attacker could use this to impersonate a previously
paired Bluetooth device. (CVE-2020-10135)</p>
<p>Andy Nguyen discovered that the Bluetooth A2MP implementation in the Linux
kernel did not properly initialize memory in some situations. A physically
proximate remote attacker could use this to expose sensitive information
(kernel memory). (CVE-2020-12352)</p>
<p>It was discovered that a race condition existed in the perf subsystem of
the Linux kernel, leading to a use-after-free vulnerability. An attacker
with access to the perf subsystem could use this to cause a denial of
service (system crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code. (CVE-2020-14351)</p>
<p>It was discovered that the frame buffer implementation in the Linux kernel
did not properly handle some edge cases in software scrollback. A local
attacker could use this to cause a denial of service (system crash) or
possibly execute arbitrary code. (CVE-2020-14390)</p>
